Shifter karts in GT6!

Perhaps I am getting overly excited about this, but I was watching the latest trailer and noticed that the kart looked different than the ones in GT5, and also that the driver was holding the wheel with one hand and a shift lever with the other. I am almost 100% sure we are talking about a shifter kart here. So I went to the official car list and saw that there is 352. RAN TURISMO RACING KART 125, and 353. GRAN TURISMO RACING KART 125 SPL. I don't remember this from GT5. What I find very odd is that I read GT6 forums that mentioned karting and none of them has noticed this.

Notice under the steering wheel on the left side (from driver's POV) you see the clutch lever, and the driver's right hand is clearly holding a gear lever.

What do you think??

Oh, I had read the last page of that thread only and found nothing. I see very little hype about this!
