Should Download Take This long?

I'm currently downloading GT Academy, and it is taking extremely long. I know it's a big file, but should it take 40 minutes to get to 10%?! It currently says 429 minutes left above the bar, and it keeps rising. It started at about 300 minutes left.

And, I'm pretty mad beacuse I had another one going, but it was late so I paused it. Then, all of a sudden it just stays at 76% (that's what I had it at before I paused it).
 
Sounds like slow internet or perhaps a currently-bad-connection. If I'm downloading something big and it starts out crazy slow (no reason you should wait 300+ minutes) I either shut everything down (modem, router, ps3) and restart or directly connect my ps3 to my modem and bypass the router. This download only took me about 15-20 minutes.
 
Just found out I didn't have the most recent PS3 update (downloaded it), but I don't think it will change anything with my downloading speed.

It took me a full day and a half to download. :crazy: After which point I replaced my dlink router which had been steadily declining.
 
I downloaded it in a few hours I guess.
Selected 'download in background' > played video game > shut down system > "Want to shut down system when download is completed?" > yes please > had some fun in the sun :)

'Download in background' is your friend!

Also remember that if you play another game online while downloading your current download will become pending until you get off that game.

I find it hard that most of you are in the USA, and if your info that you share is right that your download would be forever. I have a 10MB net speed and I got it downloaded and install in about 1.5 hours.
 
I'm gonna download it today, if it's avalible in my country. I assume it's gonna take at least a day, considering it's 3 GB.

I live in the U.S. and I just measured my download speed from my computer to be 14Mb/sec.

...yet PS3 says my 3GB download will take 898 mintues! That's 15 hours! WTF?!! :crazy:

I blame PSN
