On Request
I bought Gran Turismo 4 three or so years ago, and it was my first GT game. Obviously, it was brilliant and I'm a fan now. Currently I have GT4 and GT5 (both for my PS3), but I was wondering if I should purchase GT2.

Pros:
-I can play it on my PSP wherever I have internet!
-More race modifiable cars!
-More GT series history and nostalgia!

Cons:
-$6 of a student's money gone...
-Don't have time to play it...
-Won't have time to play it...

Tell me my fellow GTers, should I make the jump?

EDIT: GT2 just arrived in the mail, black discs and all. I have yet to try it out, but I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase. Thanks for the help from the community :).

Yes. GT2 is dated in some ways, and it lacks some convenience things that other games in the series have, but it does many things better than any of the other games in the series.

Will it stay fun like GT4? I can already start to feel the fun/freshness of GT5 coming off. GT4 still feels as awesome as it did on Day 1.

GT2 is great, even with its dated graphics and physics engine. It was more of a driving game then a driving simulator, which made it stupidly fun. It wasn't realistic by today's standards but for the time it gave a pretty accurate feel of a car. For $6 it's worth it, that's like a lunch at a fast food place now. And yes it'll stay awesome, I played GT2 for years and still go back every now and again.

I'd also recommend picking up GT3 which is many ways is better then GT4 and 5.

It has a few bugs, but the gameplay is superior to any other game in the series in my opinion. Except for the ai (GT3 has the best), and the garage bug, this is the best game in my opinion.

EDIT: GT1 and GT2 is 2 bucks each here.
GT3 was like 5 bucks.
GT4 was 10 bucks.
My PS2 was 50.

So when I get GT1 and GT2 I will officially have a GT collection for under 70 bucks total. :D

I play GT2 to this day. Many of the things that GT4 did that made the game so fresh and appealing even after years had past GT2 did first, and GT2 did better.

For example, the car customization system was in many ways more realistic than the one in GT3/GT4, so if you like doing that kind of stuff GT2 will keep you hooked because of that alone.

Another example: You know how GT4 had plenty of events to complete and stuff to do? GT2 still has more.

GT1 was the most serious game, GT2 was the most fun, because there were few series races and it was easier to make money.

I love GT3, but for some reason just hate GT4, it's terrible in my opinion. The graphics are terrible too, I don't know. I played it for a month and just got tired of it. I was too used to GT1 and GT2.

It's a great game, it was my first GT (Bought the GT1 later)...

The game is great in many ways, and if you don't bother with the graphics, it's Superb.

It has many cars and tracks that disapered from the ealier games...Like the Corsa B GSi, Vector M12, Espace F1...From the tracks we have the mentalist Grindwald, Rome Night...
