Should I buy GT2?

I have GT1, GT3 and GT4. I've played GT2 before against a friend, but haven't seen the simulation mode. I've also heard that it's got a mammoth amount of cars here at GTP and that many members think GT2 is the best GT game. So I was wondering, should I buy it? Is it worth it?

Yes you should. It's cheap nowadays if you can find it. It also has a ton of cars not found in the other 3 games like the first-gen Mazda RX7, Plymouth Belvedere GTX, and STP/Taisan Viper (to name 3 out of about a hundred). In my opinion it's definitely the most "fun" of all the games. The rules are lax, and it seems to be the easiest game to make a ton of money in a few minutes once you get the hang of it.

The downsides are: bad graphics (slightly worse than GT1), more glitches (don't save your game after using the machine tests or you may eventually lose all your cars), and some really horrible progamming that can make your game freeze up or go black between menus, but this only happens if you've got an early 1.0 version of GT2.

You'll also get to race at Red Rock Speedway and Grindelwald and one other track I'm forgetting. Oh yeah...Rome Night! :D Can you find these tracks in other GT games? NO

BUY IT!

What about Tahiti tracks? Seattle Short? What about the Pikes Peak rally tracks?

:D

GT2 is by far, the best GT in the series. Some bomb-diggity tracks and cars, as previously stated. And ya cant forget the Renault Espace GT1: the fastest minivan on the planet..... 👍

sure, you should buy GT2 (even if it has 2 CDs) it is a wonderful experience :) and it also has the best physics engine for drifting, better than GT3 and GT4.

you will love it when you see your Toyota Sprinter Trueno go sideways in Grindelwald :)

for me it is the best game in the GT series, BUY IT :)

I wouldn't say that. Even though I've done a few long drifts or even linking together a few turns.
I would only agree on what you've said if it's for the seattle tracks only (maybe a few others as well).

i miss seattle short. i can't stand seattle in gt3 & 4 because it's later in the day and hader to see wher your going.
