should i increase body rigidity before 24h Nurburgring race??

hi.
should i increase body rigidity before 24h 200 pts A-spec race at Nurburgring.
i rather don't want buy this upgrade because driving my car after this is harder, so i want stay on stock but i don't know how it will be after eg. 12 h????

so basically i don't want to upgrade!
please answer.

sorry for my english .

thank you in advance.

Well, the cost of the procedure is far outweighed by what you COULD win. Go for it.

thanks for the answer.

i have enough cash. problem is with handling of the car. i think driving with increased body rigidity is harder and i need every second to win 200 pts race.

What car are you using? I would say don't go for it, but if you're doing it in A-Spec it could help out in the long run. I'd have to know the car to figure if you have a good chance at winning.

Suzuki GSX-R/4 or ASL ARTA Garaiya (JGTC)

i just tried 10 laps of race in ASL ARTA Garaiya (JGTC) and i was only 1-2 s ahead of the competition.

i'm rather good driver. i have 80 gold licenses, all driving missions completed etc.

Hmm... If you don't mind a nailbiter of a race, take the Garaiya with the increased rigidity and if it's understeery, try putting softer tires in front than in back. Making the rear springs a little less stiff should help too.

Think of it this way.

If you keep the car as it is you'll have a well running car until the chassis turns into spaghetti, meaning roughly the first third of the race. Then you'll have a damn hard time extracting the most out of it.

If you take the rigidity increase you'll have a slightly stiff car in the beginning of the race, developing into nice handling when the extra rigidity wears off and in the end it still doesn't wiggle down the straights like a drunken worm. Your disadvantage in the beginning is more than paid off in the end.

Go for it.

Thanks for the tip but i can't put softer tires. I think it will reduce A-Spec points & i need 200 :). I try to do rear springs a little less stiff.

Not if you start the race on harder tyres, and then during your first pit stop change to the softer tyres. This will not affect A-spec points.

Also Open, we should mention that pitting after the first lap (not the first 'stint') is a strategy that seems to work well for some races. Dotini does it for the Roadster 4h, so it will certainly work for a 24h race.

I would ralso suggest setting dampers 2 more than you normally use. This I find helps prolong the handling of the car or makes it a bit better when the suspension does wear.

Thanks Uncle for the input.

You're saying that the extra stability (actually, less of a deterioration) gained by this makes up for the complications of a stiffer suspension? Thanks mate, I assume it's been posted in the 200pt forum?

I do not think it has been posted before, But I found at Sarthe in particular it helped lessen the effect of the worn suspension.
I am assuming the effect is a percentage reduction of the set values, so if set higher then the net effect on a higher value shock setting will be less??
