i think it is a shame that they went this route.

they went OTT with the premiums it seems ie with damage and modelling it seems. I'd rather have had 100 premium racing cars with the damage, internal view etc and a couple of hundred premiumish cars with new models designed for the ps3.

instead we have a handful of cars post 05 and the others are just ps2 models which in my view is bad.

GT looks brilliant because it has a distinctive visual style and everything looks like is belongs in that world. whereas with the standard cars from the screenshots they look out of place.

It's an extremely important car. IMO, the car of the decade.

Most powerful production car
Fastest production car
and the list goes on.

We won't see a car like the Veyron for a long time with the gas prices increasing and the ''everything has to be green'' mentality. It's the excessive in every single way and that makes it totally Sub-Zero.

Well, to put an idealistic spin on it, ALL cars in the game should really be premium. :D

But I suppose the important thing is that it's in the game, period, and whether it's premium or standard will be a minor issue. At least for me. While I generally prefer driving in cockpit view, and hence my real preference for cars being premium, I'm guessing with the Veyron's stratospheric top speed, it would be much easier to drive with the bumper cam anyway.

For the record, I really don't understand people's fascination with the Veyron. Yes, the Bugatti name has a long, rich history. And the Veyron is clearly an exceptional car. But it's big claim to fame, aside from being outrageously expensive, is that it's fast. Crazy fast. In a straight line. At La Sarthe, especially without chicanes, it will be untouchable. But the facts are, it's a pig of a car. And around smaller, tighter tracks, even a car like the tuned Lotus Elise would probably win a race. After 5 laps the Veyron would probably run out of petrol and/or overheat it's tires.

I know it's not all about exotics, as we're always told but really would you rather hit the ring' with a prius or a veyron?....mhmm. Weird considering it's a racing sim. This is imo though.

Not having driven the Veyron on GT I do not know what to think of it but on Forza it is awful. It is very fast for sure but it can not corner for anything. It certianly is not one of the fastest cars on circut tracks, not even close.

It's still called "The Real Driving Simulator"

Actually, I couldn't care less about the Veyron. It's not a pretty car and not even the fastest car on track.

There are many cars in GT5 that even more deserve to become premium.

But all in all I'd say every car should be premium.

The Super Sport is close to that, not faster than a formula 1 on track though.
On the Top Gear track:
1 Veyron Super Sport
2 Gumpert Apollo Sport
3 Ascari A10
4 Koenigsegg CCX (with Top Gear Wing)
5 Noble M600 (cold)
6 Pagani Zonda Roadster F Clubsport
7 Caterham Seven R500 (cold tyres)
8 Veyron original spec

Talking only about the Top Gear track of course since it is in the game. It handles wonderfully in real, even with ESP off. Maybe they got the chassis parameters wrong in Forza. They should come in France, bugatti/VW is quite open minded to showcase their baby to professionals.

I played with the Veyron in GTPSP, and I can definitely say it has horrible handling. Definitely not fun on a circuit as it's hard to grasp how much braking you need and most of the time you drive straight into the gravel. It's simply not a very fun car to drive on a circuit. It's constantly smashing the gas on straight, then smashing the brakes to a near stop on a turn, then hitting the gas once again when the car is on a straight again.

Sure all cars should be premium, but I wont wait 10 years for the game. That why we have GT6 for. I wanna enjoy the game now, Standard cars will be just as good and fine to me.

Based on popularity, and for GT's own good, it definitely should be.

As has been mentioned, however, it's very possible (and I think quite likely) that it's listed as standard for damage reasons only.

Yeah, it should've been premium for sure. But it's ok, i think we'll see Super Sport in one of the countless DLC packs soon or later, so it's ok.

I voted yes even though I loathe the car and think that all the people that rave about it based on the acceleration specs would be terribly disappointed in it compared to a real driver's car like an E30 M3.

There is a LOT more to a car than 0-60 speeds.

I think it should have been premium because of it's status in automotive history. I am excited to see how they did with the sound though. I really hope they nailed it because it bellows such an amazing tune.

A bit off topic: Anyone think that an engine upgrade would basically make the original Veyron perform like the Super Sport version? Maybe with other upgrades it could be possible to reach 432km/h.

I think due to the engineering side of this car, yeah it should be a premium. But as has been said previously, I think there are also lots of other cars which should be premium... which aren't

While I like to see a premium model, I still think there are better cars out there. Which could use the premium treatment.

I think Bugatti doesn't let them have damage ? And crashing into a solid wall with 400km/h would just shatter the car in thousands of pieces. Something that can't be done on a Ps3 in the realism PD wants it.

I guess one of the main things about the Veyron is the level of refinement. Sure you could just overclock a normal Veyron, but the SS has a lot of very clever, considered modifications.

And about 25 Skylines. *Sarcasm

While this argument is completely valid in the padding-of-the-car-list criticism, rebadged / renamed premium cars don't equal a completely unique model. They may as well duplicate cars. It's very little work to change a couple of bits of plastic and some badges, and adjust the stats.

One point that's been overlooked is that we have seen pretty nice images of PD's Veyron model, which everyone took to be premium. If it's a standard, then perhaps standards won't be the duds everyone is expecting after all. :) Shame we apparently can't even change their wheels :(

Nevermind an F1 car an F3 car would lap siginifacntly quicker than a Veryon.

Even at a high speed circuit like Le Mans the Veryon would struggle to break 4m, by contrast an LMP1 would be around 3.20-3.30 and a GT2 around 3.55.

All cars have damage, standard and premium.
