Simple couch cockpit

This will be my first post and thread on this forum. Yippy...

Recently I have been looking into purchasing 2 DFP's. The only thing holding me back is my budget. A couple of my buddies said they'll pitch in some extra cash to pay for a battle setup, but I will be needing 2 cockpits that provide the ergonomics of a race car.

I've had my eyes on the GTcockpit (http://www.gtcockpit.com) for a while now, but the price is a bit up there. And I was wondering if anyone owns one and could tell me the dimensions of the frame.

Here's a simple design I made for my couch...

As for the pedals... they just kinda sit out on the floor. I'll probably design an angled stand for them as well.

I can also make it compatable with a car bucket by adding railing on the square tubing and connecting the square tubing with the original cockpit in an adjustable fashion.

What do you guys think? Opinions would be appreciated.

TY,
Jason

Neat desing! If you go for your custom design, I do second your idea to have an angled stand. Unless you have a low couch. Make sure the stand has the correct height. You mentioned wanting to have the same ergonomics as a car, so you may need to do this to avoid the "truck/bus driver" postion of the pedals. The DFP tends to rock a lot, good sideways support is also important, so some sort of ballast will be needed too. 👍 👍 👍
