I guess I'd particularly like to hear the opinions from the guys with real life racing experience on this, but anyway:
The Shift 2 team are really pushing the 'drivers' battle' with the game, but I'm wondering if those that actually race like the idea of this, or feel it is just tacky? Can replicating that really be done well?
Would you rather have:
Static view, no camera shakes, no added effects.
Replication of what it's like in the car, i.e. head shakes/look to apex/distorted view and sound effects when crashing/speed effects/simulated G-forces.
Note I'm saying the physics would be the same in both situations, but the visual representation is different. I'm interested to see what those who race in RL would find more appealing/satisfying
I personally think for doing hotlaps I'd use a static bonnet cam, but for enjoying the game I'd use the cockpit view with all the effects.
