ive searched but found mixed answers and im confused.

Can you use the Sixaxis to steer in GT5P??? i was wondering what the Sixaxis championship was for? implying that the sixaxis is used?

other games seem to have this function but i cant find it on GT5P...
thanks

I don't think it is possible to use the Sixaxis function in GT5P, it's a rubbish feature anyway, why would you want to use it? The Sixaxis championship is simply for people who use a control pad(with the d-pad or analogue sticks) rather than a wheel.

oh right...
i wanted the feeling of a steering wheel without actaully buying one..

They should have called it the Controller championship, its missleading,

I am also in the position of wanting a wheel, as I have to use the analogue stick to turn and ever since the last update I think they are too sensistive. The Sixaxis championship has nothing to do with me, so maybe you should point out that calling it that may be missleading, to the organisers.

Its not really misleading at all. SixAxis is the trademark name for the controller.

I don't think it is misleading either, but it mislead one person so maybe it could mislead another, that said I am confused how he came to his assumption. Anyway I answered his question, so that should be the end of it.

How can you say that using the Sixaxis as a steering wheel is stupid. I dont have a Steering wheel, but i play F1 Championship Edition and i use the Sixaxis pad to steer which is perfect for me and other people use it in the same way for F1.

I was too hoping that PD would have done the same thing for GTP and hoopefully for GT5, because not everyone can get or afford a steering much less want one. I am going to get a steering in the near future for other racing games that dont support Sixaxis Steering. Plus you can use in Motorstorm.

Just mt opinion but i think it would be a good idea to have that function available for GT5 and GT5P.

Ok, maybe stupid was harsh, I have not tried it properly in a racing game, but found it hard to use in other games, it just seems like a feature which is hard to implement, I don't have F1 so I don't know if it works well, either way GT5p doesn't support it, I am not against it being added, even if I never use it. Options are always good, as long as there done properly.

KY has mentioned before that he intends to use some of the SixAxis functionality (like in GTHD) but not for steering.

I do know that on Motorstorm it is pretty hard to control at first but it takes some practice as with F1. butit's not all bad. i hope more racing games will be enabled that way.

But a wheel is a controller too so surely that would also be misleading?

besides... "the six axis controller using six axis, analogue sticks or d pad tournament" is a bit long winded dont you think? :P

I have a sixaxis. It cant steer but im damn better than most people with wheels.Sixaxis champion is serious its not just a competition for "people with controllers"

The Sixaxis championship is just for people with controllers. I wasn't saying it wasn't serious or a rubbish event, I too use a pad and know a lot of good drivers do. I was just stating a fact, I have no intention of talking up the event or disrespecting it for that matter, just clearing up the guys confusion.

Well, I want to talk it up :)

It's been an absolutely brilliant way to compete where we're all on equal footing and are not getting positively trounced by wheel users. It's completely diverted my interest, focus and dedication away from the IFTC where I was making no impression at all.

For all pad users who didn't get in on the act this time, I thoroughly urge you to get involved in the next installment of the championship once this inaugural event is completed. It's been really nice to be near the top of a leaderboard again 👍

All the best
Maz

Not sure what you mean buddy. The Sixaxis Champ event is JUST for people with a SixAxis. No wheel user race it. The only person who uses a wheel in the event is GTP_Wanna_B to steward the event. He doesnt race.

But back into topic....

...If PD did give the SixAxis users an opition to use the motion sensers how many would use it?

Personally I dont think I would unless it was VERY good. Games such as motorstorm or other racers that use it, dont work well. You have to keep the pad dead straight and upright to use it well. And then once you get to full lock (If you were to cross your arms other with the pad), it thinks you have the pad straight and you end up going in a straight line.

Actually only for Motorstorm do you have to keep the pad dead level because Motorstorm has motorbikes so you can do wheelies. But in F1 Chapionship Edition, because it is a car i hold the pad straight up like a steering wheel and it works fine as if i were using a real steering wheel.

But i dont think that PD will be able to implement that because they would have to reconfigure the the buttons for those who use manual shifting. Who knows.......we can only speculate:idea:
