anybody on skid recovery force (MR,FR)
MilldrumIf you are just new to GT5 with an over powered rear drive car then you could make a case for it. Never use it for Rally. As you get better, turn it off. Your car goes faster as it doesn't brake a little to help you turn. I used it at the start but now do not.
It's okay to use driving aids as you start out. Everyone does.
If you don't use driving aids as a noob, you will get discouraged.
As you get better, you will start to rely less on driving aids.
I stopped using driving aids after 4 months but I still use full ABS. I think it's stupid not to use ABS. but I guess it all depends on how you drive.....I brake hard and accelerate hard so I need abs.
TCS - regulates power when launching or when there is low grip
SRF - Cuts power in individual driven tires to maximize traction
ASM - Individual brakes are active when the car becomes unstable
ABS - Reduces the chance of skidding under hard braking
Aids aside from abs is heavily shunned upon. If all you can do is full power and eratic corrections, this game isn't ment for you.

Ignore Audirs, a typical black and white elitist who works only in extremes. AIDS are not heavily shunned upon at all by the wider community. They can provide a gentler learning curve as you improve in skill. You will then most likely find yourself turning them off one by one for a more satisfying experience.
People really talk too much about this.
It's simple.
SRF on is arcade mode.
SRF off is simulation mode.
All other options are realistic options that exist in the real world. SRF takes away part of the simulation challenge and just adds grip in a particular way under certain circumstances to make newbies feel like they know what they're doing and like GT5.
SRF = 1.0 is Arcade Mode
SRF = 0.5 is Simulation Mode (no SRF); 1.0 (SRF)
SRF = 0.0 is Online Mode (no SRF); 0.5 (SRF)
Pick yourself a car thats 100-150 hp go to a practice track you have learn`t fairly well and run a few laps with the aids your used to ,Once your running reasonably constant times try turning the aids off one at a time whilst trying to match or improve on your previous lap , It will take time but you'll get there and on the way you will learn a lot
good luck and most of all have fun with it![]()
Makes no sense....
Makes no sense....
I don't know what the hell he's talking about either. SRF is an on/off option.
budiousHow is so hard to understand turning it on may equal one intensity of an effect in particular mode of the game, and switching it off may equal another intensity of an effect and not necessarily zero effect? I'm not saying that is the case, just speculation...
Arcade Mode
[*]SRF off = SRF 1.0
[*]SRF on = SRF 2.0
Simulation Mode
[*]SRF off = SRF 0.5
[*]SRF on = SRF 1.0
Online Mode
[*]SRF off = SRF 0.0
[*]SRF on = SRF 0.5
Arcade mode and Career mode do not seem to have a difference in Physics (at least practice laps) they even group the times together at the track menu.
Yep, the only difference to online mode is Fuel/Tyre Depletion in online mode.
raVer
Not really, because you have tyre/fuel depletion in the endurance races aswell, and they are offline races.
As to the original question, no I don't use Skid Recovery Force at all for any racing whatsoever, I don't use any aids except ABS-1 on cars that had ABS fitted from the factory. The only time I did use it was for the Elise Top Gear Challenge.
The grip is not "Real" in enduros.
