Has anyone here skydived? Care to share you experience? I have a nephew, age 20, that I am going to take skydiving for his 21st birthday where he and I are going to take a 10,000 jump out of a perfectly fine airplane.

I have about 6 months to prepare.... Any tips? :nervous:

Take the lessons very seriously!!
Especially the ones about landing properly.
Even with a "textbook" perfect jump, you can be injured if you land wrong.
I know a guy that was in the Army, and he f'd up his back jumping out of airplanes.
Be careful. I'd miss you if you got squashed.

I still don't get jumping out of an airplane that is functioning perfectly.

Well...he jumped yesterday. It was an awesome day but unfortunately I weigh in too much for the tandem jump. Can't be over 205lbs and well...., hey I've been working out and bulking out...and I had one or two too many bowls of Ice Cream.

Anyways...looking to loose some weight, after hearing his experience and watching the video, it's something that intrigues me even more than before.

I would suggest a tandem jump to ANYONE. Just awesome.

9,000 Feet, 120 MPH for 30 seconds, 5 minute parachute descend jumping out of a 183 Cessna.

That gun you call your left arm weighs more than 205, doesn't it? :dopey:

It sounds like a ton of fun, Pako. You're the kind of uncle everyone should have. [/sucking up]

Skydiving is something I'd be more interested in if I wasn't married to a nurse. It ranks up there with me ever having a motorcycle. I'm doing good just talking her into letting my son play football when he's older, whether he wants to or not. Scholarships and all...

I know that feeling . Though I have got away with abseiling off a brigde and down a cliff.

For what it's worth, the owner of Lost Prairie called it a "183" not a "182". All I know is that it was a stripped out plane, single prop.
