I've been trying to find the slowest way round the 'Ring. (North loop)

So far I have only tried a Kart. That took me about 9:30 minutes. Oddly addictive to try.

Any takers?

I think I've done a lap somewhere between a 8:20-8:30 with a 125 kart.

But seriously I think you should try one of the old Volkswagens or the 2CV.

A bit of extra ballast and reduce the power on them, I should be able to get over 10 minutes a lap.:dopey:

Take a stock Daihatsu Midget II D type '98

.

You could always go backwards - in a Swimmwagen.

I was going to suggest reverse gear with one of the low HP cars. You beat me to it. Don't forget the Comfort hard tires and try random settings for all the parts to make it drive even more poorly.

Driving at night in a car with no lights might help slow you down too... not sure if there are any that would qualify as "slow" off the top of my head, though.

UPDATE:

I done it in the Subaru 360, full 200kg ballast with a huge 16bhp. It took me........................................................Wait for it...................................................16.46.XXX :)

And you managed to get up the hills???

Try full weather, 100% water, rain, at night, no lights, comfort hard, tire wear on, any sub 20HP cars, full ballast, no oil change, high miles, shortest gearing, let me know the time

Done a couple of on-line races round the ring in Fiat 500's, it was pretty SLOW...

That sounds like an awesome idea. I'll try and post it tonight. :)
