This is my first post, but of course I've been reading your words and findings for years now... Such a helpful community!
So, there is a small thing I do in GT Sport that made the game way more enjoyable for me (and I already love the game): whenever I receive a gift car, I delete it from my garage immediatlely (you can 'sell' it without receiving credits for it). That way the credits you earn both offline and online makes way more sense and actually has a purpose. It gives me the old school feeling of saving for a beautiful car, just like in previous installments of Gran Turismo.
It looks like the game can handle this approach, like it was balanced for it. You really get to know the cars you own better this way.
You should try it, it really lengthens the lifespan of the game for me!
