Small question on the getting a dlc..

Someone gave me a free XL codes & I downloaded it successfully. My question is I know that to get the DL I need to click the red arrow thing on the main menu. But can I access it without updating my GT5?

I've stayed offline since hybridding craze. I have still the version where you can make cars via hexing.. I don't want to patch it because it as far as I've read here so far the patch reverts cars into the original values. I made the stealth,chrome and other cars.. So can I access the red arrow in the main menu to install the dlc on to my console without the patches?

You can:

A- update and download DLC then delete your updates and go back to 2.11. ( Do not know for sure if this works with your cars reverting, all I know is they would not revert until you got into them)

B- Change some hex on each car before the update so they work with the new update (exact detail cannot be discussed)

C- Do what I did and update and delete all your hybrids and enjoy the experience of making new ones!

D - if you've downloaded the stuff from the store you do not have to worry about installing it, it will always be there in case you decide to do one of the above 3 things mentioned in the future 👍

I believe that's the version I have the 2.11.. C isn't an option to me.. GT6 is coming & I deleted all the hex programs.. The B option I haven't been enlightened on yet. Since it cannot be discussed here..

Hehe a lot of guys here since I last visited were dismayed they updated the game wipping out their cars..
As far as I know bricking only happens if I tamper with the firmware of the system.. I have a legit ps3 & I just don't update the GT5.. I just tampered with my gamesave.. I seldom go into the online rooms to race.. I was just wondering if I can access the red arrow thing on the main menu without updating..
