Brabus ForFour - fastest ForFour yet gets 130kW!

May 26, 2005

London, England - The most powerful production Smart yet, the Brabus ForFour, is set to get pulses racing when it goes on sale in Europe in June.

A heady concoction of Smart innovation and style combined with the awesome design and power synonymous with uber-tuning house Brabus make the top-of-the-range ForFour a force to be reckoned with.

With significantly higher specification levels than comparable cars in its class, the Brabus ForFour is also the most complete Smart yet built.

The car’s distinctive looks include Brabus body styling with spoiler, skirts, sports exhaust and 17" Brabus Monoblock VI alloy rims

The Brabus ForFour is the most complete Smart yet built...

The real gem is under the bonnet. The 1.5-litre turbocharged engine has been developed by Brabus exclusively for the ForFour and delivers 130kW to thrust it from 0-100km/h in only 6.9 seconds and on to a top speed of about 220km/h to make it the most powerful and fastest series production Smart yet built.

Remember, the ForFour has a mass of only 1090kg so that kind of engine output gives it a power/weight ratio of about 120kW/ton – a figure most performance sports car owners would envy.

The unique cabin has black leather Brabus sports seats with distinctive silver stitching and head restraints embossed with the Brabus logo and the makers says the combination of performance, luxury and driving pleasure makes the Brabus ForFour outstanding in its class.

Jeremy Simpson, Head of Smart in the UK and Ireland, said: "Like all Smart Brabus products, the ForFour Brabus is extremely distinctive and has rarity value

...but the real gem is the 130kW turbo engine capable of 220km/h

"For discerning buyers looking to express their individuality through their car, and enjoy high performance at the same time, the ForFour Brabus gives them an option not previously available."

The UK was the largest market for sales of Smart Brabus models in 2004 at 670 units, about six percent of total UK Smart registrations for the year.

The Brabus ForFour will be in showrooms in Europe from June with a sticker price of £17 195 (about R206 000) on the road.

130kW is about 177hp, I think, if someone could confirm or deny this...

130kw is 174 bhp :P

Not bad, it's an expensive car though. £17,200 is muchos prices. You could get a year old Mk5 Golf GTi for that.

With the handling on that platform? Meh... I'd rather have the Brabus Smart Roadster.
