I was drifting the other day and..
i said to myself.. dang i wish i could see the other cars while im drifting
what if you can turn OFF the smoke to see the cars in front and back of you.. YEAH 💡
( a LOW smoke to NO smoke option )👍👍👍

Dont act like a smart:censored:, What im saying is, is that Gran Turismo is known as the "Real Driving Simulator" and this means the handling of the cars are as close as they can to real life, the looks of the cars and tracks are straight from the real cars, and the smoke is what happens in real life when you are drifting. Hense the reason why there is smoke.

I do agree that there needs to be a difference between cars, because the smoke coming off the tires of a 350hp 240sx is not going to be the same as a 800 Supra or Viper.

But to make an option to turn it off would turn the game into a Arcade game. Which is not what Kaz had in mind when he made the GT Series.

that gives you tons of options..
( witch is what, " Kaz " had in mind )

what do you think all of these updates are for ..
he and his crew are listening to the complaints,ideas etc...
of those who own the game

gt5 is no longer just a game its a " movement "
that will be here for a while
so tweaking little things here and there ( such as low to no smoke )
is an inevitability..

Yes, you can turn off the smoke...
Its called "Drift in the Rain".

Or you can just buy and play Forza 4. You wont see almost no smoke there.

Also, the best way of be safe from the smoke blindness is to be tight on the tandem. Or follow the front car lines instead figure the track lines.

The smoke is part of the experience and if you can't drift with it practice until you can. People complained when gt4 had barely any smoke, then pd added good smoke and now your complaining about the smoke?? It's crazy
Although the idea to add factors that effect amount of smoke would be nice. That way an ae86 doesn't pour out smoke like a zr1.

howabout having percentages of smoke ..
like 20% or 80%..
the lower the percent the more transparent the smoke...
it makes for a better replay visual
instead of waiting to get that one good picture ...

ive drifted with the white smoke gang..
..and is that drifting or flying that your gang does..??

like 20% or 80%..
the lower the percent the more transparent the smoke...
it makes for a better replay visual
instead of waiting to get that one good picture ...

Are you really sure that all cars produce the same amount of smoke, indepent of HP?
Cose i dont feel that way. For me it depends mostly about wheelspin x car speed, mostly. I mean, any AE86 at very low speed and high wheelspin will burn and smoke much more than a Vette at high speed, but fewer burning rubber.

Anyway i think you are asking something hard to happen. Because right now the smoke of my online mates are less visible than it actualy is for them.

Hahahahahahahaha whatever you reckon. Yes, they may be some odd options in the game, but those options are there because something wasnt right. I.e the slipstream was too strong, so they gave us an option, for those of us who dont like it that strong, to turn it down.

Now you are the only one complaining about the smoke, when really it doesnt affect anything at all, decreasing it wont change anything and incorporating an option to decrease it is wasting any time PD has. Time that would be better spent fixing proper things or putting DLC together.

So yes, we will sit here and laugh at you all we want simply because you seem rather set on getting this "decrease smoke" option when there is nothing wrong apart from you not being able to see. Poor you.

As had been said earlier, dont like the smoke? Go play Forza or GT4. Dont like the smoke? Dont play GT5. Simple. Understood?

I have been in a lot of rooms and they set the surface water on a certain % not very high though lol but yes it does work.... I hate FORZA on 3.... 1..... 2..... 3...... Hate FORZA it is garbage lol at least in my eyes...... And you are absolutely correct close tandem works great too.... But in my opinion that POS chat box needs a on & off switch more than the smoke lol that would be more realistic and better

Hey i can solve your picture problem bro.... Adjust your focal number always put it up high if you want the clearest picture..... and your shutter speed i usually put it either all the way up or almost even when the car isn't moving.... It makes a amazingly clear freeze frame.... Like everything just stopped

If you want less smoke drift a stock S13 ( for example 180SX Type X ) on comfort medium or soft. Thats the real life experience.

No wonder smoke is all over the place in the monsters which people drift. All high PP.

Edit : For photos, take it from a place where the smoke isn't in front of in the rear of the car. I will see if I can make a video about this.

First you go into photo mode, then stop the playback and as its stopped you can actually walk around your car/cars to pick out a good perching spot. Now here comes the tricky part... you see the smoke (crowd:YESSSS!) ok good, now the cars is what we really want so try to get in front of the car, or anywhere where there isnt smoke surrounding the camera. Yes we know, "But how You say?" if its not foggy, smokey and or hazy.. 9 times out of 8 you are in the right spot. If you can do this, you can conqu... take a picture! HAZAA!!
