SMS fixed controller handling?

It seems with the recent patch, the controls have been more stiffened. It seems as if the speed sensitivity has been increased. Although, this is just my opinion. It seems less likely to accidentally throw the car to the wall with a small twich of the finger. I am using the xbox 360 version, currently playing with the dpad.

Can someone conform that the patch had something to do with the controller handling? Thanks.

I know on a wheel that the steering is less twitchy at higher speeds.I would figure it would be that way for the controller as well.

I think the first patch was for some minor bugs and steering issues.I believe the next patch will fix more bugs and fix the Force Feedback loss after first race.

The patch is in 2 parts. So far we only have Patch #1.

I made the same observation. I could not win the Exige event prior to the patch, but afterwards it was fairly easy. The controller feel has definitely improved.

the patch improved controls only for the first race. from the second on, everything turns back as it was. you should do a race a reboot. (and not restart it or pause)

I can't tell any difference in the post-patch handling with my DS3. But, the previous handling wasn't that big a deal to me anyway.

If I could setup a car it was not a big deal before, but with the loaners I had trouble because (especially the steering lock) were set up for wheel users rather than controller users. The loaners are now much easier to handle in my experience.

You may be right about that, and I hope you are. I haven't paid much attention to the loaner car handling post-patch. Based on your earlier discovery, lowering the steering lock, among other more subtle suspension tuning, has greatly improved the behavior of my cars.

I have learned, the hard way, you can go too far with the steering lock! I was driving the Shanghai track with the short little hairpin detour (Bund?) last night and my R35 couldn't make that turn! So, like everything else, you have to find the right balance. But, like you, I find steering lock normally works well for me in the 8 - 10 range, sometimes a bit lower and sometimes a bit higher.
