Alright Gentleman,
With the official Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge series in motion, I have decided to entertain the idea of a few support/special event races throughout the season to fill the gaps between season races.
A few thoughts spring to mind so far:
1.) 60 minutes Endurance Race (lap count to achieve Approx. 60min) of LeMans with accelerated tire wear and fuel usage, and pit stops
2.) 60 minutes Endurance Race of the Nurburgring full track with accelerated tire wear and fuel usage, and pit stops.
3.) (2) 30 minute races, 1 using qualifying, the 2nd using reverse grid at any venue that supports rainy conditions with accelerated tire wear and fuel usage, and pit stops. (Could use this idea with different tracks if and when rain conditions become available)
4.) Night time race if there is are venues ingame to support it using one of the above formats.
These are just a few ideas I have had so far. If anyone has more ideas, please share your thoughts. I would like to have at least 5-6 events to drop in throughout the season.
-Scoring will be kept for each race, however, no race to race standings will be kept.
-These events will be open on a first come first serve basis to all drivers with no regard to drivers list priority. Those who confirm their spots once an Invitation post is made, will be guaranteed a spot on the grid for the event. Reserve entries will be accepted to cover last minute drops/no shows if needed.
-Drivers will use their season Cup livery
--Reserves can choose the team and livery they would like to use from the Reseve livery list on a first come first serve basis when a confirmation to race is made.
-For these races, tire choices will be open between Race Mediums and Race Hard tires for all drivers. NO DRIVER SPECIFIC PLACEMENT
-Same Vehicle power and weight standards
-Tuning permitted
-Grid Spots will be open to Cup Challenge members first, then will be open to any Snails who might like to join us for the event. (Additional liveries will be made available)
-All rules of Snail and the Porsche Cup Challenge will be followed for these events.
I'm awaiting this upcoming week's update to see what we get in regards to rain/track content. I would like to plan on an event for September 6th, 2 Fridays before our next scheduled season event.
Simply "like" this post as a show of interest so I know if this is worth putting the extra time into organizing, and post here in the thread with any thoughts or ideas you may have. I hope this gains some traction to fill the gaps during the season. Looking forward to seeing your thoughts and possible interest, and if there is traction, I will post an open Invitation with event details some time towards the end of this week.
