RACE NIGHT ANNOUNCEMENT
16 player Party Chat Policy
We will use the Party Chat feature at the opening of the Race Room with the following Rules:

1.) It is encouraged, but not required that drivers enter the Open party chat to help in the flow of communication to start the night. (Especially drivers new to the series)
2.) Open Conversation is allowed at the opening of the Race Room to the official start of Qualifying, approximately 9:30pm est. *ALL MICs MUST BE MUTED AT THIS TIME, thru Qualifying, and Race 1* (Host will remind all drivers to please mute mics before the call to start qualifying)
3.) Once the race finish countdown is complete, drivers may resume un-muted conversation up to the call to mute mics before the next race.
4.) After the final race finish countdown is complete, drivers may resume party conversations.

Be reminded that no discussions regarding on track incidents are to be discussed, except obviously, if it is simply an apology and no more. Please review the penalty guidelines for more detail on this policy.

And Lastly,

**Please don't be that guy who has their mic on the whole race** (If your headphones do not have a mute feature, simply leave the party chat before the Qualifying Session begins**
Points
Platinum and Gold Level drivers will be scored together under one standing.
  • 1st = 16 points
  • 2nd = 15 points
  • 3rd = 14 points
  • 4th = 13 points
  • 5th = 12 points
  • 6th = 11 points
  • 7th = 10 points
  • 8th = 9 points
  • 9th = 8 points
  • 10th = 7points
  • 11th = 6 points
  • 12th = 5 points
  • 13th = 4 points
  • 14th = 3 points
  • 15th = 2 points
  • 16th = 1 point

*No bonus points for pole or fast laps

Scorekeeping and awarding of points
Race 1: will recieve up to 16 points for a 1st place finish on down as shown above;
Race 2: will recieve up to 16 points for 1st place finish on down as shown above.
Points from both races will be totaled to reflect total points earned for the event.
Perfect night will total 32 points.

Points Tie Breaking Policy follows same policy as Snail League shown below:
In the event of a tie at the end of a race night, the driver with the highest single race finish will be awarded the tie breaker. If both driver have the same best finish, use the second best finish. 2 wins would beat 1 win and 1 2nd place finish or 1 win and one 2nd place finish would beat 1 win and 1 3rd place finish. The driver who wins the tie breaker will be awarded .1 point on the score sheet only for the purpose of breaking the tie for that night. The .1 point will not count toward the season championship.
Driver Classifications
Different Tire compounds for each driver classification will be used to help equalize the pace of the driver talent levels.
Platinum Drivers:
-Upper 1/2 of Snail Driver's List or known pace from Season 1
-will use Racing Hard (RH) Tires
-BLACK painted mirrors and Spoiler winglets, and black Cup Challenge numberplate with white numbers

Gold Drivers:
-Lower 1/2 of Snail Driver's List or known pace from Season 1.
-will use Racing Medium (RM) Tires
-YELLOW painted mirrors and Spoiler Winglets,
and yellow Cup Challenge numberplates with black numbers
-Gold Classed driver pace on Race Medium tires should nearly match the Platinum Classed drivers field

What if the Snail Driver's List is an odd number of Divisions during driver placement/season start?
*Recently archived and current race data from the Snail Sunday night series will be used toward placement of active Split Division Snail drivers.
**New/Ex Snail drivers with limited or old data, and New NON-Snails will be required to run a control time trial for placement.

Drivers who are initially Classed as Platinum at the Season start will be reviewed in the first 2 events attended. If found to be struggling and/or are significantly off pace (more than 1 second/lap consistently), the Series Director will relegate the driver to the Gold Class)
New for Season 2, will be a Success Ballast feature on top of the initial Platinum/Gold Driver Classing. Details outlined below:

Platinum Driver Class Success Ballast Ladder
(4% point weight ADD Maximum, approx 125lbs)
+2% point weight ADD
(For each Overall Event Win.)
+1% point weight ADD
(For each 2nd or 3rd Place Overall Event Finish)
-1% point weight Removed
(For a finish outside the top 5 for drivers with added ballast)
If a Platinum Class Driver manages continued success after the 4% point weight maximum has been earned and applied, Congratulations.

Gold Driver Class Success Ballast Ladder
(4% point weight ADD Maximum, approx 125lbs)
+2% point weight ADD
(For each Overall Event Win.)
+1% point weight ADD
(For each 2nd or 3rd Place Overall Event Finish)
-1% point weight Removed
(For a finish outside the top 5 for drivers with added ballast)
If a Gold Class Driver manages a podium finish after the 4% point weight maximum has been earned and applied, the Driver will be promoted and graduate to the Platinum Class at base specs.
(Once a Gold Class driver is promoted to the Platinum Driver Class through their performance and success, they will stay there for the remainder of the season)

**Drivers who are absent or do not complete both races of an event entered will not recieve any reduction in accrued ballast**

TEX36 (Steward)

Incident filing PM's must include the following in this order for each incident to be accepted:

The offending driver may plead his/her side within the group pm by 8pm est Monday, 10 days after the night Raced.

After the 1 week rebuttle period has ended,(Monday 8pm of Race weekend to the following Monday at 8pm) the Chief Steward and/or any support stewards will review all incidents filed and submit a ruling in the respective incident group pm by 6pm Friday of the next race event.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD AN INCIDENT BE FILED OR DISCUSSED IN THE MAIN THREAD, IN RACE, OR THE INGAME LOBBY. IF THIS OCCURS, A MANDATORY UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT PENALTY OF UP TO 50 POINTS WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM THE SEASON'S TOTAL, AND A 2 WEEK SUSPENSION FROM THE SERIES AT THE STEWARD's DECISION AND DISCRETION

**No Self Reported Incident Reports will be reviewed. It is up to each one of us racers to hold each other accountable for on track performance. If you feel strong enough that an incident should be filed on an offending driver, I encourage all drivers to do so at their discretion.**

The Stewards will be utilizing the penalty guidelines set up and used within the Snail Spec Racing Series. Follow the link below for:
Penalty judging Guidlines
All Stewards are to review a replay of an incident in question and reply to the PM with their opinion as to what "Level" the incident falls under, and a recommended point value within selected level to deduct. Penalty Points may be halted if sufficient on track concession was shown, however, no penalties will be halved for self report.**Again, Self Reported incidents will not be reviewed**
*The Chief Steward will make a final review of all incidents filed, taking into account any rebuttals and the other Steward's grading of the incidents and will make a final ruling for issuing penalty points.

**Please Note: If the Chief Steward deems, in any way, the lead driver lost control, and the chase driver attempts to brake or evade, but still makes contact, no penalty may be issued at the Chief Steward's discretion. **

At a 10 week season's end, the results sheet will be reviewed for each driver. All repeat offenders of the rules of this league will be reviewed by the Chief Steward and Steward Corp on a severity and case by case basis. If the review reflects a consistency or lack of improvement, the Chief Steward may recommend removal from the series by a peer to peer judgement .

Penalty points will be shown in the Overall Season Standings Scoresheet and will be deducted from the event score it was recieved and from following event scores until cleared.

Post Race Report
Event #8
at Suzuka
February 19th, 2021
Event #8. Suzuka. Wow. I'm just gonna first dive in on my experience and battles for the night. Race 1, got off to a great launch with a few places made in the opening lap. A small battle with @Phlano099 erupted until he went a bit deep giving me an opening. At this point, I lost some ground in that skirmish, but set my sights on making back some ground on @Noob01_lmdead (Raul) and @IceWarden with @Roman_GT23 just ahead of them. With my attention ahead, I didn't see that @GTR4MROD was assembling his own attack and before I realized it, he was on my bumber. I immediately had to switch to defense, tightened up my line and placed my car strategically to try and fend him off. After a few stressful laps, @Roman_GT23 had an off at T1&2 Curve affording another position, but GTR4MROD still was on my tail pressuring hard. In the following laps, Roman_GT23's off would become my saving grace, as he caught GTR4MROD and myself and was now hunting the hunter. Romans's pressure forced GTR4MROD to go defensive and in turn allowed my escape. All the while, we were gaining on Raul and Ice until I did catch Ice taking advantage of a small mistake to take the position. This where our 3 way battle started and ran to the finish. My only shot at Raul was on the straight beginning our final lap, but he asserted his position and placed the car perfectly affording me no opportunity with Ice close and ready to strike. We ran like this to the finish line. Great race to both of them and @GTR4MROD....And, thanks Roman. ;)
Outside of my battles, the top 4, @Harry Rowley (until he did break away), @Yugofan , @MrDonovan, and @MikeGrove had and epic battle for the Race 1 podium. I'll leave it to one of them to elaborate.👍

Race 2 had some good battles early with @Moby45 and @MikeGrove until a few mistakes took me towards the back of the field. With 10 laps to go and not much going right, I put my head down and decided to just get as many back as I could. As luck would have it, and through the team help from @Rob Brown 's defense, I was able to catch up to the back of this mid field pack. After another brief battle with @Phlano099 ,
and a few spots gaining through others mistakes, I found myself back in a race with IceWarden for 7th place. I threw the kitchen sink at him, but still wasn't enough to get around...Great racing and defense Ice.
And now, a huge shout out to @TEX36 on an awesome Race 2. Starting in 4th place after race 1, he navigated his way through the leaders to grab 1st place after a few laps. Unfortunately, the heavy defense Tex had to get through allowed @MikeGrove and @Yugofan to make positions and gain ground. By Lap 9, MikeGrove was on Tex's bumper and applying heavy pressure. Tex continued to hit his marks, dropping some fast and consistent laps all while maintaining a defensive stand. This battle raged to the finish line where MikeGrove was only .181 behind and Yugofan just a few car lengths off. As I put the Race Broadcast together, I'll be sure to capture this battle, but for those interested earlier, have a look at the replay. Great battle and great racing fellas.

If anyone else cares to share and elaborate on their battles, feel free. Great racing everyone.

These two races had so much in them, so apologies in advance: this is a long one :)
What a pair of awesome races, so close, great racing all.

Race one - Yugo, Harry & I made a break from the start, with Mike close behind.

Coming out of the esses on lap 3, Yugo kicked his tail out & I was suddenly in a bad spot next to him. Despite slamming on the brakes we made light contact, which let Mike thru & allowed Harry a break. We never saw Harry again (despite Yugo’s effort incl. a 2:03 flat towards the end).

Yugo & I were all over each other & Mike, and once Yugo got past I was keen to follow and chase down Harry. In hindsight, a little too keen.
I had a move going into 130R, but misjudged my speed & had to chuck it sideways to make the corner. Didn’t realize Mike & I connected until I watched the replay, thought he’d just taken avoiding action. My bad Mike, I was too optimistic & should’ve let you back past.

Once I had clear track I found rhythm and put in a series of 2:03s to close Yugo to 1.5sec. But I never got closer - no matter what I threw at him (inc a 2:03.2), he had an answer. Beautiful driving Yugo. That 2:03.0 at the end was something special.

Race two - I bogged down at the start and found myself last by T1. What followed was the closest race I’ve ever been in.

End of L6 I thought my network had died when three cars ahead all went wide at 130R. First corner L7 we lost two more, and I was suddenly up to 8th - with Yugo on my tail & four more behind him.
I made the mistake of checking my rear view coming out of the hairpin, which threw me & I missed my braking point into Spoon by 50m.
Raul was the victim, and after slowing to let him past (& somehow not causing a massive pile up) I was back to 13th.
I took a deep breath and focused on consistent laps to catch up.

Two laps later I was back on his tail, and on L10 Moby went wide at T1 & slotted behind Raul, who was right behind Nova.
Nova got eaten by Degner 1/2 and a few laps later Moby went wide at 130R.
This left Raul, R4mrod & I racing for 5th on L12, a battle that went right to the end. R4mrod was the meat in the sandwich and did a great job of assertive defensive driving.

I had two good chances to get past him, and bottled both of them.
L16 on the back straight R4mrod had a run on Raul, but I cheekily gave Raul a bump draft & got alongside. I couldn’t complete the move cleanly, so took myself wide at 130R and tried to catch up again.
My favourite was into T1 lap 17(?). I’d gotten past on the outside, but braked too early out of fear of the T1/2 ripple strip. R4mrod held his ground, slid slightly into my tail - which spun me out - but then kindly tapped my front which brought me back in line rather than out in the weeds. Very gentlemanly of you, R4mrod.

Out of the hairpin L19, I lost the tail, then R4mrod ran off track and Raul was gifted a 1.5sec gap. I knew I had a chance, put my head down, and despite being in slip on the final lap I wasn’t close enough to make a move until the last chicane.
Raul went defensive as expected, so I tried an untested move around the outside. I somehow got it stopped in front of him and despite a little rubbing we made it thru side by side.

I was scared of contact on the run to the flag, so left Raul space & only just pipped him by the length of my hood.
What a finish to such an intense race.

Thanks heaps everyone I raced near, & thanks Nova for another great round & some awesome pics.

See most of you for the next Michelin round.

Awesome Race Report @MrDonovan.
Enjoyable read.👍

A bit of a busy week, but finally got around to our Suzuka Race Broadcasts. A special thanks to @Noob01_lmdead (Raul) for his broadcast to tide us over:cheers:.
I would like to comment and commend every driver on some great examples of good racecraft and on track etiquette. The numbers of side by side and nose to tail battles, and the number of multi-car battles were countless, but great courtesy from everyone in these tight quarters racing situations. These broadcasts were just as fun to play back as they were to race. Enjoy 👍.
Event #8, Race 1 at Suzuka on 2/19/21

Race 2

Again, all replay broadcasts from every event can be found and viewed from the first page.
Great racing fellas, and see you all at Fuji for another one.

Hopefully I’ll be out again in the GT3 in the near future too .

Hey all - thanks for the laps yesterday, and apologies for running into pretty much everyone at some stage...

Did a full length trial today. Fuel will be very close, I made it with some short-shifting. Tyres weren’t as bad as I expected.
Fastest lap was a 1:40.15 in a light car towards the end, but most pace was in the high 40s/low 41s.
Now I just need to practice not running into people... ;)
