The proposed change should be interesting. race 1 would favor the fast qualifiers (moby). Race 2 would favor the slower ones (like me).
Moby45's pace was not what would typically be expected given his pace and consistency put him more in line with a Platinum Class driver. In the early season races nmcp1 was the standout pace setter, but now that all drivers seem to have a handle and more confidence in these cars, his pace now falls within the avg to just above avg with the field. I expect Mobys pace to fall into that category with his promotion to Platinum.
With that said, as I and nmcp can attest to, overtaking drivers has become very very challenging against the gold driver field.
It is also worth noting, that not one event was a Platinum Class driver on pole...that says alot as well, especially since about 8 gold class drivers are within tenths of each other in fast lap pace. While the fastest will get a shot at top spots on race 1, they must then overcome a long challenging climb to the front for race 2. I'm confident with the parity in pace, that it will still present a challenge to all.

Practice Night, this Friday, November 2nd at 9pm est for Event #5 at Barcelona.

Event details shown here:
Event #5 Details

Plan for this Friday.
If numbers are light, we will just run a few 8-10 lap sprint runs just to get pace and some practice.

If the turnout is strong, my thought is to try the 40min race format.
It'll go like this:
-Room opens around 9pm est: drivers may begin setting laps. (This will be warmup and qualifying)
- at 9:20pm est, if numbers are good, we can decide to run (2) 40 minute races, or just run (1) 40 minute race using qualifying times to manually reverse the grid to simulate race 2.

Hope to see alot of you on track this Friday:cheers:

havent practiced lateley been busy sorry
No worries, that is what tonight will be...practice. I expect the practice racing tonight to be a little more sloppy given the short notice, but we'll all be better for it come Race Night.

Alright Gentlemen,
Below is the plan for tonight's practice:
-9pm est: Room opens for warm up/Qualifying. (Your best time during this session is your qualifying time)
-9:20pm: Race 1 (10 minutes) to shuffle field.
-9:35pm: Race 2 (40 minutes) Reversed grid
-10:15pm: party chat for final thoughts and opinions.

Assuming this new (2) 40 minute race format goes through, we will be using the Endurance Race countdown timer rather than hard set lap count. Be mindful to race through until you see "Final Lap" on your screen.
Looking forward to practicing tonight. Outsiders will be welcome to turn laps during warm up and qualifying, and may race if clean. If anyone sees foul racecraft during this time or Race 1, please let me know and they will be kicked before Race 2. Hope we get a good turn out and see you fellas on track.
