So I was driving home on the freeway and I saw a viper. I got next to him and gave him a hefty thumbs up and he gave one back to me. Then a little while later he got pulled over by a cop. It was messed up though because all he did was move right to pass a slower car in the fast lane. He was going 85 at the most it looked like to me. I had seen the cop coming up behind me as the viper pulled away from me and started to catch the Viper. It looked so setup because the cop was watching him aproach the car. There was no one around and it's not like he was weaving. Anyways, It was a nice 2000 dark grey R/T 10. Anyone else got any stories since were on the subject?

:irked: :mischievous: :odd:  :banghead:

BTW, anyone that doesn't live in CA. is lucky cuz were screwed now... We just could be upstaged by Florida, we have to be No. 1

That sucks..but that's what he gets for owning a viper...it's a cop magnet.

I don't really have any stories like that, but I have one from the other day that's a little different.
I was on this two lane highway doing probably 75mph in the fast lane (speed limit was 65mph) and this big white Ford Bronco (OJ Simpson style hehe) comes flying up behind me and starts tailgating me. I'm in my Accord and I'm thinking "Hmm...he could probably drive over my car..so I think I'll let him go" so I pull over into the other lane to let him go by. He takes off and gives me the finger as he goes by at probably 90mph for and gets 100 yards ahead when he gets stuck behind an old lady in a big Caddy doing the speed limit. He's about to pull into the right lane to go around her when I pull up next to him (thus blocking his illegal right-side pass :D ). He gives me the finger yet again and I just smile and wave. I paced the old lady staying just close enough so he couldn't pass for about a mile before he slammed on his brakes and pulled behind me, then passed me in the breakdown lane and went tearing up the highway doing what looked like 100mph. I'm laughing my ass off at this point, but it just gets funnier from there. As soon as he's out of sight I see bright red and blue lights in my rear view mirror and a cop car goes flying past me and eventually pulls the guy over. I wish I had a camera to get a picture of his face as I drove by...it was priceless.

That is oneof the big reasons why I do not drive my Viper more than wht I do. A super bright yellow Viper cruising around a town of 3,500 people sure gets noticed. I would get pulled over for stupid things like they thought they didnt see a plate, excessive acceleration, and just a whole bunch of other garbage. I say it is garbage because I would be driving no faster then anyone else and they would always pick on me. If the car NEXT to me peeled out I would get pulled over cause they thought it was me.
The police around here are a farce. I have asked many times if they have no better crimes to solve than picking on a kid in a fancy car.

Hey ethix101 even though I hate people that do that and I wouldn't something stupid like the bronco driver did, that was a pretty funny story. That's cool he got pulled over because he deserved it.

Rumple I guess I have added respect for you since you have a Viper but that avatar is kinda dragging the respect level down too. I have to simpathize with you an the viper driver because I could tell the cop was just looking for a reason to pull him over the moment he realized he was following a viper. Yes, he may have been going over the speed limit but going over just like any other car could. I guess that's why in this day and age I don't get as excited when I hear someones got a powerful car or they came out with one. You'd never beable to you 1/10 of the actual power. :(

Stories about vipers or about getting pulled over for no reason?

A guy I worked with got pulled over for street racing because he was driving a riced out integra. Street racing against who he couldn't figure out, the cop wouldn't tell him who he thought he was racing against.

As far as Vipers go, I went for a fun ride in this one for a few laps around Portland International Raceway. It's one of the CART Fast Lap cars... I don't know why the pace cars were at PIR several months before the CART cars came, but I wasn't complaining :P

Here's another picture, you can see me waving :) These are all the pictures I took of the day, I don't think there are any more of the Viper though.

It could be other factors, such as not wearing a seatbelt - "Click, or ticket." Or maybe he has a child in the passanger seat, who knows :D
