I think it is safe to say that it will be different from GT5. Just like GT5 was different from GT4, GT4 from GT3. GT3 from GT2, and GT2 from GT.

I would guess some steps forward, some back.
Some additions some concessions.

Sorry to be vague, we know bugger all about it.

Well what are they going to do to make it different . Don't get it.:grumpy:

Same thing as usual - some new cars and tracks. They probably won't add exciting, enjoyable, or interesting new features because PD lacks the vision for that and because the fanboys argue against wanting new features.

Enjoy and embrace what you have at present, otherwise you may find yourself waiting on somthing that may never arrive and missing out on oppertunities that are right in front of you.

Why do you say this? Is there something new that I missed?

Elementary, my dear Watson. The longer the waiting, the more likely it is for GT6 to be a title for the next generation of consoles. Although it's far from certain, but an increase in likelyness from 1% to 2% is still an increase ;)

I can honestly say for the first time I am not that excited about the perspect of a new GT game, but I am sure that will change when they release the first bits of info about it.

What's the point of new features when PD can't even get the basics right??

GT5 has proved already that new features aren't going to keep the "fanboys" happy. Over 50% of the people I played Prologue with virtually every day or 4/5 times a week, for years - have now given up on GT5.

Prologue had 4 decent tracks and a handful of cars, how come people played that more than GT5 that had so much more??

Out of the 80 or so GT friends from Prologue, maybe 20/30 are left playing GT..

Sort your priorities out... get the basics right, do what the game is supposed to do, then bring in the new features...

Hopefully, what will be different is the game will be tested BEFORE release and won't be full of hundreds of mistakes, bugs, glitches etc etc when released and users can go online and race their friends without having to endure the 2 year connection 'nightmare' we've experience so far with GT5.

No nightmare on for me at all. Got the game on release day. Don't play a massive amount online, and not saying I haven't had any problems but have not had a nightmare at all. In fact, this is one of the more stable online games in my experience.

Honestly, GT6 is going to be a smash hit no matter what. GT5 sold more copies than citizens in NYC, and the people here are like 2% of that. People will buy it, people will play it, and most people won't know any better.

I, for one, will only buy it if it is for the PS3.

No, the exact opposite. As every day passes with no gt6 news or announcement the closer we get to ps4 announcement, most likely at E3 next year. There are no other major game shows before then to announce a ps3 game so unless they do it at their own event and soon, its not going to be a ps3 game.

PD refuses to compete against, or even acknowledge the existence of the rest of the racing sim industry. When that's the attitude a developer takes, there's nothing much to do except sit and stagnate. They've been updating GT5 and adding DLC, so you can clearly see what is and isn't a priority for them. I don't see GT6 being any different than GT5 is now - just with more cars and tracks (if it's on the PS3) or better graphics (if it's on the PS4).

The AI won't be improved - if that was a priority it would be massively different now.

They won't add a ton of tracks so as to compete with other games - they refuse to hire enough people to do that, even though they're given more than enough money and time.

They won't expand the selection of cars much past the Japan-centric stuff in GT5, as the contents of their DLC's have shown, it's not a priority.

Who knows, they may add a livery editor, that sure would be nice.

well welcome to gtplanet :gtpflag: but this is being discussed in multiple threads. If you dont want to close it you can change the title to "what can make gt6 different from gt5" but then again that might just be another wishlist thread. I dont know, let a mod decide if this should stay

Pretty much agree, I think PD could be best described as stubborn. They have what they want to do in mind and will do that no matter what anyone else does or says. The AI, Large number or Japanese cars, especially certain Japanese cars, the horrible sounds, lack of new features and Ill add the now horribly dated tuning system just shows that they must really not care about these things. They have been around basically since the beginning and have have little to no improvments.
