So has PD abandoned the rally part completely?

I remember reading that there were rally dailys in the beta? But not after that?

Anyone know if they're ever going to bring it back? Release more rally content?

I know the rally part is mostly hated here, but I like it a lot.

With Gravel coming out in less than two weeks I was thinking of preordering it, but if the rally-part in GTS hasn't been forgotten maybe I won't. Bought Dirt Rally a few weeks ago and didn't like it at all (even though it's probably a great rally-sim).

The mission challenges have a couple of events reminiscent of the old Sega Rally where time is running out and you have to pass slow AI-cars. Wish they would've done it for all the rally tracks.. Wouldn't be too hard to implement.

I really hope they abandoned it. Should concentrate on creating more cars and tracks. If your game is having a wide array of cars and tracks already, then you can play around and experiment with rally or rallycross if you like to. But when your game lacks in those areas, then you better get your stuff straight there before delivering on more niche aspects of the GT universe.

From my time in the Beta and the Demo, there has never been a Rally Daily. From the Beta to the game coming out ,there had only been GR.4, GR.3 and one make (With N300 only happening in the Closed Beta). They've only recently finally bought in GR.1

Imho the "rally" part of the game was a big fail -no matter how you see it-.I can understand why PD wanted to include a "rally" type of racing in GTS ("many other titles do that so we have to do it too" logic) but like @th3o wrote it would be better if they did not spend any time at all with that.At least they could just leave it as it is and just focus on other parts of their title.

A rally with a load of cars and no SR effect would be a lot of fun I think. Something to not take too seriously. It seems to me that some folks take this game WAYYYYY too seriously. Last few races at Blue Moon it seemed to me that the SR penalties were almost off. Who cares if their SR drops - if they are any good then it will be back up again in no time (and my SR is S and has been for ages but I am not going to moan like a lot of people on this board do if it drops as I don't care, it is not going to stop me from enjoying the game).

I kinda agree with you mate but if a game is supposed to give a FIA Gran Turismo Digital License (its supposed to be a real life licence) than its logical that some people would take it more that "just a game".

So it's dead I guess :D

I didn't think it was difficult at all. Plus you have to be almost constantly turning the wheel so it feels like doing more than "normal" races..

So maybe the top 0.001% can take it seriously. But it’s likely they are so far up the road racing with the other people who are taking it seriously. So SR is not an issue for them.

For everyone else it’s just a bit of fun.

Still my point is valid: its an "e-sport" title that is supposed to give a real motorsport licence. So it is logical that some people would take it more seriously that others would expect.

I join the request for time trial leaderboards and especially to include again as an option the racing lines of friends or better classified which is one of the things I miss most of GT6.
You are probably asking for more than I am which should be in the game anyway, TT's with leader boards and ghosts and friend's lists.

I was just thinking a TT for rally would be good because crash fest, no, but, still have a comp with those great cars. The challenges could even include pavement and I'd be happy. Something simple as I'm no game dev.

Personally I'm glad it's not a major part of GT Sport, many other game makers do it far better (because they know their audience). Like a few of you said "just concentrate on what we have now and give us more tracks/cars and forget the rallying part........or even better give us 10 laps racing on the moon again but with 20 moon buggies and pit stops

Rally in this game is terrible for multiple reasons. 1. Terrible physics. 2. terrible tracks. 3. Terrible cars.

It is almost like they added it to boost the track/car roster.

It was a complete and total waste of resources. I would have rather they used that time and effort to make more tracks that would actually used on sport mode

100% agree. It has no place in the game but I could maybe have accepted it if they had used real Group B cars, not their stupid fantasy rally cars. MSC rally car, I mean really?!! And as for that RCZ, what were they thinking? They absolutely failed without question on this and when you think that great circuits such as Spa, Le Mans, Austria A1 Ring and Silverstone were left out because they made rally tracks that an extremely small minority want.

I mostly agree the cars are great tho.

A sport mode single elimination 1v1 rally tournament that pops up as an event once every few weeks would be rad, I might try and flesh that idea out more and post exactly how it could work later

Speaking of Rallies - I think PD did abandon it because I haven't received a rally car for my daily gift in a long long time......

Well its random, they're definitely still in there, but they only make up like 5% of the car list...

Why didn’t you like dirt rally? I don’t understand how it’s possible to not like dirt rally but to like gt sport rally .

Dirt rally is a great game. Although I didn’t enjoy it much as it’s basically just a time trial which I find gets a bit boring. I much prefer track racing games against other humans.

It's most likely on the back burner until they sort other parts of the game out. It's a bit premature to say they are abandoning it indefinitely.

1.11 or so seemed to have improved rally and pretty fun in offline, but I don't see rally as viable in sport mode.

When I want my rally fix, I got Dirt Rally and WRC7.
