Looking on other forums and on the PS blog there all saying this is GT7 under GTS name :nervous: Why didn't PD just make that clear to start. Sure i'm not the only one confused as hell right now. And on top of that this series is to big to 🤬 up a announcement like this :boggled:

Leave to pd to 🤬 anything gt God even a simple announcement

I think the are deliberately being coy. Why would you announce that GTS is GT7?

Maybe they are doing both? It makes no sense to dampen expectations this early. Why not have two bites of the apple?

Basic branding issue.
If they plan to abandon numbering, they can't say "This is Gran Turismo 7, really!" when the name is "Gran Turismo Sport", if they did that, it would be simpler to just name it "Gran Turismo 7" or ugh, "Gran Turismo 7: Sport".

So it's proper that they just say it is the 'next Gran Turismo' which it is! regardless if it is the 7th, or "the 1st" of a new series attached to the parent brand "Gran Turismo".

It may be unclear now, but they still have many months to develop and communicate this new brand and its scope.

Does the name even freaking matter? What matters is what's in the game and nobody knows that yet , no matter how many opinions and assumptions you see online.

Isnt a shame?

No more proof is needed to show how incompetent PD is at marketing. There is still no definitive proof this isnt a Prologue game under a different name so its impossible to completely ignore that possibility.

Leave it to PD to have butterfingers and fumble the announcement of the most important GT to date

Well, even you are making multiple posts about it. Viral marketing, perhaps. If so they certainly have you fooled.

For one announcement to generate this much chatter, I'd say it's quite a successful marketing technique...

You mean, people are making discussion about a video game on a discussion forum that is dedicated to said video game? No way.

Im on the fence of two lines of thought . . .
the PS Blog mentions the FIA events being for the year . . . ,that makes me think its a spin off, not a prologue.
At the same time I feel had this been the "sequel to GT6", thus making it GT7, Kaz wouldve wanted more time to make that known, perhaps a montage showing GT1-GT Sport, making a stand that the GT numbered mainline games will now be GT Sport.

Just seems like GT7 is going to be out 2017 . . and they want this to run the course of 2016.

However, what we got yesterday was just a teaser. Surely it will be expanded upon at PSX.
I just want them (if its a mainline game a.k.a GT7) to maintain the soul of GT. Buying a car, owning it, moving up the ranks offline etc. and this FIA leagues being a part of it.

PD has severely under utilized every single real racing license they have had to date, so I dont see that changing

Well, now that I think about it more, I think they are being vague because they know its just a prologue but they dont want us to know, because of course we would be extremely disappointed.

That's quite the conclusion to jump to so quickly.

I believe that what we are seeing is the seventh GT. It does not look like an offshoot of the franchise based on the fact that road cars are present in the trailer.

It may be a true 'GT' eventually but considering it is starting as an online Beta I doubt many will see it as that until everything is released and together whenever that may be. I very much doubt we will be seeing any of the traditional GT gameplay (tuning, offline races etc.) during that Beta.

I certainly hope not. This will be a total disaster :yuck:

The trailer got me hyped (gfx looks top notch as expected and nice music) But I am not into online racing or such competition :banghead: Obviously it is good for people who are into such things and amazing feeling for the winner to get award in the same FIA ceremony as real race drivers lol  Just like GTA this is probably one of their new thing and hopefully a proper GT7 will release in 2017 now.

Possibly, although I think it's a spin off to GT, like GT Concept, to keep us busy while they work on the next big GT.

This is pre-prologue.

If GT Sport is GT5, then this is the next GT HD, not GT5 Prologue.

LOL! pre-prologue.

thats so confusing. You should work for PD. Design riddles for Kaz. "Gran Turismo Sport will represent the very generation of motorsport"

Is it me or the graphics doesn't improve that much ? Or maybe GT6 already look so good that they can't add a lot more to it ?

Or maybe there are seasons for FIA championships and every they would end sometime in the year (and probably begin again). Anyway, we have confirmation it's a real GT, with career mode etc..

I think PD seeing all these racing simulator coming out had no other way to stand out. Even with GT Academy it was something different than other racing sims. I guess I expected this. But still I wish better graphics, surely sounds and something like open software to get outputs to make motion sims on:)
