I have done a couple searches and found a bunch of “Best Car” threads, but none on how versatile a car can be.
So after thumbing through your garage, and excluding “race cars” . . .

What single production car can you jump into and successfully compete in multiple types of races?
And what races are they?

My vote is for the Lotus Elise 190 Sport. (Or any Elise for that matter)

In the beginner hall alone it can compete in half of the events
Sunday Cup
MR Challenge
Light Weight K Cup
Spider Roadster

And in the Professional Hall it can compete and win in
Clubman Cup
Race of the NA Sports
Race of the Turbo Sports

Its manufacturer event:
Elise Cup

Special Condition races:
Rally d’ Umbria Easy & Normal
Rally d’ Capri Easy & Normal
Tsukuba Circuit Easy & Normal

The European Events:
British Light Weight Car Race
British GT Cup - It’s a bit harder in this one.

And can successfully win Endurance events:

(I don’t remember which ones I have competed in. So I won’t list any, but I know I have used an Elise to compete)

So right there we have about 16 different races to compete in.

Usually I use my Lotus Racing Green 190 sport, but I just picked up a 111s to start tuning and put through its paces.
I’m sure it will be as successful as my 190 is.

So, what single car can you jump into and successfully compete in multiple types of races?

I just have to highlight my old R32 Skyline here.

Beginner Hall
Sunday Cup
4WD Challenge

Professional Hall
Clubman Cup
Tuning Car Grand Prix
Race of Turbo Sport
Supercar Festival

Extreme Hall
Polyphony Digital Cup
Like The Wind

Japanese Hall
Japan Championship
All Japan Championship (if driven like it was stolen)
Japanese 90's Challenge

Endurance Hall
Laguna Seca 200 miles
Nürburgring 24 hours
Nürburgring 4 hours
Motegi 8 hours
Tsukuba 9 hours
El Capitan 200 miles
New York 200 miles

Special Conditions Hall
Everything on at least Normal level

Manufacturer Races
Race Of The Red Emblem

Not bad, I'd say...

- R -

Of course how can we forget the trusty Miata/MX5?

Sunday Cup

FR Challenge

Spiders & Roadsters

Clubman Cup

NA & Turbo Sports (Pro Hall)

Miata Meeting (or whatever it's called)

Roadster Enduro + others i haven't accomplished yet

80's & 90's Japanese events

There's more this car can accomplish...that's all I could think off the top of my head.

Maybe not quite as versatile, but a bit of a surprise:

Chevrolet Corvette Convertible C1

Beginner Hall:
Sunday Cup
FR Challenge
Spider & Roadster

American Hall:
Muscle Car Cup
Hot Rod Cup
Other non-Race-Car cup

European Hall:
1000 Miles!

Professional Hall:
World Classic Jawn
Clubman Cup [?]

SC Hall:
All road rallies up to medium I'd guess

Manufacturer Races:
Vette! Vette! Vette!

And quite a few Endurance Races I'm sure.

Agreed. I don't think you can find anything more versatile than the Elise. Personally I think the IIIr is more versatile than the Sport model because the IIIr has a softer suspension and is thus much more manageable on rough courses. Then again, I tend to like softer cars in general, probably because nearly all my favorite tracks are relatively rough. I even used a fully-tuned Elise as my primary off-road rally car. The Sport version is, however, slightly faster (a little lighter, a little more torque).

This list was compiled by GT allstar and he may not be finished adding races yet.

=============================

I'm interested in finding out how many races you can win (or have won) with one vehicle. I started in the used car lot with the Subaru Imprezza 22B and won 105 races.

Besides the Imprezzas and the Lancer Evos, are there any other cars that are able to do this?
How many Races have you won using the same car (no repeat races) and what halls/tracks?

Here's mine: (and I may be missing some in the Special Conditions Hall):

Special Conditions Hall
Citta d'Aria (Easy and Normal and Hard) (6 races)
Costa D'Amalfi (Easy, Normal and Hard) (6 races)
Grand Canyon (Easy and Normal) (4 races)
Tsukuba Wet (Easy and Normal) (2 races)
Ice Arena (Easy and Normal) (4 races)
Chamonix (Easy and Normal) (4 races)
George V(Easy and Normal) (4 races)
Tahiti (Easy and Normal) (4 races)
Cathedral Rocks (Easy and Normal) (4 races)
Cathedral Rocks II (Easy and Normal) (4 races)

Beginner Hall:
Sunday Cup (5 races)
4WD Challenge (5 races)

Subaru Dealership Hall:
Stars of Pliades (5 races)

Professional Hall:
Clubman Cup (5 races)
Tunung Car Challenge (5 races)
Turbo Sports Challenge (5 races)
Boxer Spirit (5 races)

Japanese Hall:
Japan Championship (5 races)
All Japan GT Championship (10 races)
90's Challenge (5 races)

Endurance Hall:
Grand Valley (1 race)
Laguna Seca (1 race)
Nurburgring 4 hr. (1 race)
Nurburgring 24 hr. (1 race)
Tokyo R246 (1 race)
El Capitan (1 race)
New York (1 race)

Extreme Hall:
Like the Wind (1 race)

That's a total of 40 COMPETITIONS having a total of 105 races.

Wicked thread as i am just starting over...

I just bought an mx-5 as my start car and it has one me many races as mentioned above including the easy special conditions hall...

So my question is following the miata/mx-5 what do think i should get next?????

Obviously i'm looking for a useful car that competes in heaps of events that the miata doesn't so as to get the biggest bang for my buck

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the Dodge Ram yet, at 100+ winnable races.

Likewise the Suzuki GSX-R/4 can do a fair share, but I haven't actually counted them up yet.

A major knock against the GSXR/4 is that it isn't a production car, though it can win an astonishing amount of races regardless.
Another couple I've found to be quite good is the Lotus Esprit Sport 350 and the Nissan R390 GT1 Road car. The Sport 350 can win just about every race it can enter with up to the ALMS cars, and the R390 can further push that mark up to essentially every race it can enter, period (barring the Formula 1 races).

Slight deviation from the topic, BobK nailed the two most frequently used for max A-spec points... Han_the_Dragon posted a pretty extensive list in the 200 point forum about which cars are the most versatile for 200 point racing:

Paraphrased quite a bit... but at 200 per race you can figure out the counts.
Dodge Ram - 19800...
GSX-R/4 - 6400...
Black 787B - 7600...
'62 Skyline Coupe Sports - 2800...
Then just start getting cars like the MX-5 (from 90's I think) ...And the Subaru 22B (for the Boxer spirit and Subaru 1-make)

The Renault CLIO v6 sport model is really versatile and is the best hot hatch in the game mainly due to its MR drive train

Not sure on amount of races but it is A LOT!! even with out the SC hall and endurance inclusions!!

Rather than everyone being so vague, I'd really like to see some definitive lists, similar to the one I posted above, that show exactly how versatile these cars can be.

💡 Let's see some win-lists to back up these claims. There must be one GT4 car that can do more than any other car in the game, so which one is it?

Cheers,

MasterGT

Thats just was I was thinking.

Anyone can say This car can win lots of races.

I'm more interested in seeing which cars can be used in and win what races. So far it appears that the R32 might be ahead of the Elise.

But not by much.

The Subaru has nearly twice as many Championships covered than what is listed for the R32. I have no idea how many races that includes, but I bet it is a long way away from 105 (or possibly more) for the 22B.

MasterGT

Sorry about that. I totally overlooked the post. I don't know how oor why i missed it. I shouldn't post when I'm overly tired.

Honda Civic Race Car with extra mods (namely NOS)

Can do what?
Nice car, but it dosen't fit the criteria of what this thread is about.
I'm looking for production cars. Not Race cars. (see the first post.)

*edit* Oops . . . I meant to add that to the first post. It's been added now. ***

Couple more races a tuned 22B should be able to manage:
The rest of special conditions (24)
Supercar (5) - can it get enough hp to qualify?
PD Cup (10)
Suzuka 1000 km (1)
Motegi 8 hr (1)
Tsukuba 9 hr (1)
Premium Sports Lounge ?

Would be 147+...

My memory is failing me somewhat, but aren't there a couple events in the American and European halls that didn't actually have the regional restrictions in place? I know 1000 miles didn't, but don't remember which others.

I think that I might have to change my mind on this one.

I started a new game recently and decided to only buy cars that I needed to complete the game, and only tune them as needed to be competitive. I also started keeping track of what cars were used in what events.

My first car was a Mazda RX-7 GT Limited (Stock w/ oil change) which I used to run the second special conditions race. I managed to win the first race w/ out too much of a problem. The second race (reverse) took a couple tries to win. Upon winning the event and claiming the Toyota RSC Rally Raid Car 2002, I promptly sold it (as most people do) in order to buy a car that would be my work horse for the game.

With the credits I received from selling off the toyota, I purchased a used Active Red '99 Nissan Skyline GT-R. And as I stated above, I have changed my mind on what car is the most versatile. At last count I had used the GT-R to competed in 30 different series,in various degrees of tuning, and have won. And I haven't even started the endurance events.

I'll agree with Graycap that the Skylines have a definate advantage in the game. But for me its the R34.

Compared to GT allstar's 40 Championships in the Subaru, so far, it still falls short.
See post #7.

Sorry if that comes out kinds messed up. I copied it out of a table that I was working with.

As you can see, there are still quite a few races that I could enter and win with the Skyline. Plus there is the manufacturer event too.
I believe that I could do up to 40 or so events in my R34.

Although I'm thinking that maybe its just 4wd that has an advantage overall because of the ability to compete in the special conditions events.
