Ok just want to find out from you all ;) what sort of challenges you enjoy/or are best at, so we can have an idea of who's going to be doing what sort of races . Include fav car/drivetrain tracks and types of races you prefer to do ie: enduro's /hot laps/rally etc...

I'll start first.....

MR & FR cars
Fully modded preferably but can do reasonably well in stock & arcade cars too! favourite car of course is the Denso :D

I'd much rather do a 3/5 lap race or a simple hot lap than a 10 lap race, but I can manage 10 laps :) don't know about any more than that though as I get bored quickly, so no enduro's for me  :P

Tracks I prefer are open, no barriers or rocks like trial mountain or monaco & seattle, unless it's a hot lap which is not so bad.
midfield, grand valley, apricot & laguna being my best for times .

Rally........ yeah I'm ok at rally 😈

I don't enjoy driving the really hard to tune and drive cars like the Speed12/6 or the Esprit350 one of them in a race would really frustrate me! I just hope one of you lot enjoy these type of cars .

My ideal race would be either...

Arcade rally car at any laps/track

Fully modded easy to tune/drive car 3/5 laps round midfield or grand valley

What about the rest of you ?

I'm not exceptional at anyone thing. I am however a very good learner given the tools.

For instance if I've got a replay to examine, I can really improve my time. I do enjoy Rally, and the road courses. Not a fan of heavily modded cars.

I'll take a hot lap race as a favorite, or a longer race. The 3-5 lappers depend on very tight consistency which is not one of my strong points. Long races allow me to work a line tighter and tighter. Which is good.

I think the Pagani Zonda Race car would be my favorite. Or the RUF RGT. Both as a stock set-up.

Seattle one and two are my worst tracks. The Joker to my Batman. The Ali to my Foreman. If it can be avoided at any cost I'd really like that...

Oh Mr. P is gonna love this thread!

So here's my strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes.

Like:

*Fully modded cars.

*Open tracks such as Apricot hill.

*Monoco is not an open track, but I really like it. Remember the 787b Mr. Holland? :D

*I will certainly be up for an enduro!!!

*Drivetrains I like are MR, FR, FF

Weaknesses/dislikes:

I have none, how dare you! :D

*Rally

*RR drivetrains

*Tracks in reverse

If I think of anymore I'll add them in.

Allright, my likes and dislikes:

I'm not good at working on a set-up of a car, so driving with arcade cars or stock cars usually works better for me.
The type of car isn't really a matter for me, i like all drivetypes.

I like the tracks with the barriers, like Seattle and Trial Mountain and especially Rome:) And i hate Monaco ( Yes Boom, i certainly remember the 787b:( )

I like rally, as long as it's not against Ron:D

And i prefer hot-laps and 3 lap races, because i tend to lose the concentration a bit on longer races.

Pros:

- Using my 12/15 setup to the full potential.
- Of late, Nissan R390 GT1 car hot laps, I could easily pull off 3-5 fast laps in that car, possibly 10 if I work on it.
- F1's, I've always been good with them but not as good as I think I can.
- Laguna, AH2, GV2 and all SSR5 tracks are my specialty but I am fairly good at Rome.
-FR and MR cars.

Cons:

- Pretty bad at FF and Rally
- Midfield, SSR11 forward and backward, Grand Valley, Monaco, Seattle forward and backward.
- Complaining about my car
- Arcade spec cars
- Suspension that is not racing suspension
- stock settings

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head, everyone feel free to add onto mine :D

my favourites (cars) just about all of them dont like any of the Zondas(unless its my hybrid one) or the speed 12
love the full high hp cars (pref. race cars)
F1 cars are certainly a fave recently winning the spot 5 lap tour at the GTF (blows own horn) allthough jmr had a look and blew me away at laguna by almost 2 seconds on his first go (I ran a 57.9)
tracks: monaco, midfield, R5 wet&dry, R11, tokyo, laguna seca & the complex string
seattle (either way), GVS, any of the rally tracks :thumbsdow

Races: hot lap is fine also a 10 lapper would be good but do like the endurance races
No rallying for me (just not good at it at all)
cheers all

My strength is losing. I know, you're all jealous. Someday you'll all match me. But not likely anytime soon.

ha ha ha you are definately a funny man T  :D :D :D

Strengths and ............gulp, weak points. Not sure I have any strengths that really stand out from the crowd as I tend to think of myself as an 'eternal midpacker', usually able to match my personal best in any event/race type given time. I can usually screw a fast clean lap out of anything...but can also find some sort of consistency over a 10 lapper. I seem to be able to find good consistency over enduro races too. Much prefer 3-5 lap races in either arcade...or in a car that doesn't have to many settings to bugger with. Main reason for that is I simply don't have the time to 'fiddle' enough to come up with a good set-up in the time allowed and that usually shows in the results.
My worst enemy is time...simply don't seem to be able to find enough of it at times and it shows...race 3 of Torc 8 is a classic example, no time and $hite result! I guess what I'm saying mates is that I really don't care what race I end up in as I'll do my best on the day anyways.
Tracks I enjoy the most (in either direction) are Grand Valley, Midfield, Trial Mountain, Deep Forest and SSR11. Tend to perform alright at SSR5 Wet and Seattle too!
Cheers, Drew :horse:

Boom, I suggest sending out a pm to all the inactive members to start doing these or, sorry to say, leave the team, and yes, sigh, if more than one has to drop out i will consider joining, but i'm a bit nervous about the possibility of having to download so many replays or saves.i still don't know how the horsepower loss/gain factor is supposed to be accounted for in the series. It took me till my hp when to around 340 to get to within a second of lotus's time. but i'm improving since i switched to the directional pad. I do well on some courses, if i do end up as a member i hope i get a course i can handle. but i'm to be a final consideration only.

PM's have been sent to those who have not been around much. Race Idiot I spoke with last night. Robin has some family issues that have been keeping him away, but he's still up for this.

Re: Horsepower loss and gains. I don't know exactly at what point a car has acheived it's maximum HP level, but what I do is save the game at that level, then I will always have a car right off the bat that is at it's peak HP, no wasting time trying to get it back up to that level everysingle time. And then when the HP levels start to drop due to high milage, then I just reload the game again.

yes, but the car in zero's challenge got up to 339 and began to drop and did not advance in power after an o/c. but when i rebout the car and decided to save the car this time the power after the second needed o/c was 340 or higher.

I noticed that it does take alot longer than one might think to build to peak HP. I noticed this while running Der Alta's SLK challenge. I went through the exact same situation as you outlined above, but after some more miles were put on and keeping fresh oil in the car it slowly raised to it's peak power. I would estimate that it took about 300'ish miles to get to peak power. Yeah, I spun quite a few laps in that car.

If we end up needing you I'm sure you'd do fine ;) it's only 2 races and you'd have someone running it along side you.

787B is 984 from the off . Prize cars come at peak horsepower so don't save after running them in and dropping some hp ;) The bought cars you need to run in , it's about 300k for us PAL users .

Where the hell did my post go:confused:

I just posted, the board said thank you for posting but there is no post?

Anyway, I had just stated that very same thing that Kelly did.

i'm not fully familiar with how the races work, i let you worry about that.
