Yesterday I moved into my new home away from home, my dorm at Indiana University. I'll be pursuing a degree in Bass Trombone and Euphonium Performance in the Jacobs School of Music with a possible minor in jazz. Classes don't start until Monday, but I'm already loving it.

Being as most American universities start at around this time (don't know about other countries), who else here is starting classes in college soon, whether for the first time like me or returning as a sophomore/junior/senior? If so, where are you going and what are you pursuing or planning to pursue?

I always wanted to play the trombone. Always. It was a childhood dream of mine... Instead I play the piano rather good and received some basic violin lessons. I love music.

I would've loved to pursue an actual career in music, but alas, in this country you have to be exceptionally good to actually make a good living out of it. Good for you, man.

As for college... well I graduated 2008 so yeah.

I'm going to be starting a new class at university soon on Thursday nights, but I'll be teaching it. Does that count?

First day of legit higher education (read: not college classes that I've taken in high school) is Monday. I can't wait.

You can always still start, you know. I can help you find a good one for cheap on eBay if you want, or send you over to The Trombone Forum. 👍

Thanks man, means a lot.

Sure, why not? :dopey:

Moved up on the weekend. Classes start Monday. I'm kinda glad I came up a week early because I would've had to drive through Hurricane Irene.

Well I go back to classes september 6th, my third year. University is a bit different here, people usually don't go stay on campus unless they have to because of a scholarship or the closest university is too far away. So I'm staying at home.

School two days a week, an online class and work 3-4 times a week.

Moving in Sept 3rd, still need to order my books. :scared:

And how am I going to get my GT5 fix at university? I can't play it without a wheel.

Back for my 2nd year of uni next week at portsmouth, studying palaeobiology :)
Cant wait to get back, haven't been able to see most of my mates due to work

Congrats on starting college. Work hard and take advantage of all the opportunities and shenanigans that come your way.

I'll be returning to college for my fifth and final year soon. Since my school is on the quarter system instead of the semester system, I won't start until end of September.
