Anyone got this one yet?

I just picked it up and so far it's pretty badass. I like teh whole headset deal, it's strange to yell orders to your PS2

Anybody playing online with teh almost impossible to find Network Adapter?

Hopefully I'll get mine on Friday. :D Then you better watch out for one helluva sniper.

I preordered mine but the game store only got like 5 in so they are out til next week. I also can't find the network adaptor.

The only reason stopping me from buying it is because I don't have a broadband connection. I know you can hook up 56k but, I know it's going to lag. :(

it shouldn't lag anyway but who knows

It will lag with 56k for sure. The people that play it anyway are jackasses cause the game says it's Broadband only. I just realized my Linux NA works with SOCOM cause you set up your account through the game and don't need the startup disc.

I just recently started playing, but my online name is _XAXIS_

I just started playing online last night. It took me a week to find the right Wall Mart for a Network Adaptor. After runing a LAN for the house it was easy as pie to logon.

Playing online is a lot tougher than playing single player mode. Everyting moves much more quickly and real people think so it's harder to kill them. Plus, there's nobody watching your back unless you're lucky enough to get into the right game. Most games run with little or no coordination. The ones that do are the most fun.

Find me online using the username Dolbytone, or Dolby since I've registered both. I usually play the US Briefing Rooms, and prefer the Demolition games. I will mostly be playing from midnight eastern to a few hours later. I can play, and be online with my PC at the same time, so send me an email, or use Yahoo! to let me know if you're in action.

Dolbytone:

I'm playin' in mostly in the Central US servers 1-3 depending on how full they are.

Demolition mostly as well.

Online name is {LYTS-X}XAXIS right now...

Sometimes I still use _XAXIS_

How u do online is all that matters, and let me tell u there are some good shots.

It's been said before but, the Headset makes the game.

Very cool game indeed!

I picked it up about a month ago but still have yet to progress much in the game. I find my biggest hurdle to overcome is having to use the analog sticks. I'm an old school game player and like to use the D-pad for everything.
The online aspect of the game is really cool. I like the fact that you are able to communicate verbally to the other online players on your team.
I usually play in the US Central servers and my username is boombexus. You should notice me in that area as one of the dead guy's on the ground. :D I'm not very good yet, but I'm getting there.

See some of you around maybe.

I also picked up this game, but Unfortunatly, I dont have a network adapter.

I loved the game for the longest time, but eventually I really started to hate it after I got to a certain point through it on the second difficulty level and couldnt get any further.

That really sucked because now I dont have the free mission select... atleast until I beat this next difficulty.

Oh well, Im not playing it any more because I finally picked up gt3, so who cares about socom.

Vice city is nice, and it really grabs your attention... for a while. I got it when it first came out(Preordered) and I spent probably 3-4 hours straight on it per day, for about 2 weeks, when I beat the story line(I had to start over a few times because of glitches, damn that boat house!) I'd recommend something with multiplayer though, over Vice City.
