Some of the first ALL AMERICAN drift machines

I was watching tv the other day and i noticed that world of outlaws sprint cars were on. I never really thought about this fact after i got caught up in drifting, but these guys are pulling off some crazy drifts on these dirt ovals. Yes i kno that they are only turning left and that it is dirt, but the fact is, they use the drifting aspect to slow themselves in a turn so they dont hit the wall. These cars also have a lot of oversteer and insane amounts of hp to help them. I also find it kinda funny that the people who are really into sprint cars are drifting fans, they just dont know it yet:D

heh, that is pretty funny man. have you ever been to one of those races? those cars fly like a mother. the cars are just 600+HP go karts because they only have one gear, but it is set really wide.

lol, But it's not drifting. The cars literally turn themselves because of the difference in the size of the tires from the left rear to the right rear. The right rear is larger than the left rear, so the car would turn naturally. You never see this is real life drifting, with "cars" do ya? ;)

To tell you the truth, i never meant to compare sprint cars to the artform of drifting. Drifting is quite an amazing thing, but its jus the sidewayz of the cars that brought it to my attention.

hehehehe

but I did watch somethin funny on Real TV with sprint cars.

In the first lap, a few cars collided in the first turn, and one made it out, but the right rear tire popped. He fishtailed, and got it straight, but the tire went off the rim. Both the car and the tire raced down the straight, and when he went into the second turn, the tire went right back on the rim!

the General Lee was more of a Rally car hehe...They should have the General Lee in GT4 so I can race in the Rally events with it hehe.
