Looks like you take good care of it. Not a Celica fan, but its in such a good condition that I find it nice :) I like to see you went with the proven performance replacement parts ( TRD ).

and kumho ecsta supra z-rated tires.

btw thanks for the compliments guys :D im trying to go full trd route

Are you a girl? If not, why does it say CelicaGirl in the URL to the exhaust picture?:odd:

It's nice, I guess, if you like that sort of thing.

Oh, I see.

What model is it? At least you didn't get the go-fast package, or sport package, or whatever the hell that package with the gay wing/ground effects is called.👍

its the gt model. haha action package.. well that kit is actually made by trd too. in japan its known as the "mechanical package". im not a big fan of that either.

So, aside the side markers, what's so JDM about it?

Too bad these things have no torque at all...

Oh quit hating and start liking.

It's not like it's a cat or something. :P

Not hatin', just asking some wise ass questions, since Josh didn't do it, and he usually does. :P

I would have, but he's not giving me much to work with. It's not all riced out, or anything, so I can't rag on him for that.:irked:

have u done any real perforance mods? you got a muffler, springs, and a short shifter. looks like its becoming another ricer so far.

im saving up for full trd suspension (struts, lower and upper tie bar, sways, etc). then i'll invest into clutch type LSD and some nice light weight volks. the new celica hits .87 skidpad stock so with couple other suspension mods i should be able to hit 1.0gs

also i think its pretty ignorant of you to label people as "ricers". just my 2cents.

as for the jdm parts, i guess my name is a bit discieving. i dont really have jdm performance parts. but i do collect stuff like door sills, side markers, and rear garnish. i just enjoy collecting japanese spec celica parts since not alot of people in the states have them.. just a little hobby of mine.

Unless you've got a set of Toyo RA1s, or similarly sticky rubber, you're gonna have a hard time hitting 1.0g. The only street FWD car i've ever seen get over 1.0 lateral g on a skidpad was an highly modified Auto-X tuned Integra Type-R.

But hey, good luck, at least you're going the right way! 👍

thank you, im glad you appreciate my taste.

i dont mean to contradict you but, there are many ff cars other than the ITR thar surpasses 1.0 lateral g on skidpad.

"Progress springs, anti-roll bars, 17" wheels and 235/40R17 Toyo RA1 tires, the RSX Type S is capable of .99g and 73.4 mph in the slalom. (SCC June '02)"

SCC had an Si Coupe on Progress suspension and Kumho Victoracers that pulled over a lateral G, but this was almost 3 or 4 years ago. They also tested the Racing Beat (RS*R) 2nd gen Miata that pulled 1.1G on what I think were springs+shocks, and Victoracers.

As for the celica... hotchkis tuning has created a street sports suspension kit that allows celicas to hit 1.04 g skidpad for only around 2000 us dollars.

My best friend is in love with Celica's. Frankly, I don't see why. I dislike it's looks. It's lines...ew... ;) He's going to completely rice it out (or so he says, but believe me, I will never rice out my car). Just make sure you don't get yourself carried away, or I'm going to have to rip the stickers off your car too :P

Wow, nice car there, good to see you haven't gone and "riced it out", so to speak. 👍 :)

Thats not ricing. He is tuning the car for performance. Ricing is when you have one of those ridiculous body kits with a huge ass wing, and like a Mitsubishi EVO front installed on a Civic or sumtin, with tons of stickers and neon lights under the car. Thats just a waste of money. The money he is putting on his car is improving its performance. Thats definately not a ricer... not even close.

Good job JDMcelica, keep it up and your car is gonna start to become really awesome to drive. The anti-sway bars will make a huge difference specially if your putting in some tie bars. I put some bigger sways, tie bars in front and back, sport shocks, sport springs, 16 inch wheels with Toyo Proxes T1-S. The car handles so amazingly well. Only thing better would be to put some coilovers. I think you could make it to 1.0g . But how would you test that?

i thought he was going down road to becoming a ricer since all thats on there so far is springs, a muffler and short shifter. but hopfully he will get things that really help the cars perfromance like an LSD, header, full exhust, sticky tires, and rear disk brakes. not a TRD body kit, 19 in rims, hood scope, or a big metal wing.

but what the hell do i know? im just some 17 y/o guy. g/l with the new car.

Very good car, JDM! Are you planning on turbocharging/supercharging it or do you like NA? And after you tune the engine/accesories, do you plan on working on the body? Maybe find the right type of bodykit that will make it more aerodynamic and the like?

sorry to correct you but

its not a muffler, its a full trd stainless exhaust. you dont need to change the mid pipe on the celica since it loses back pressure if it was 3 inches like most ricer exhausts.

also i do have sticky tires. Z-rated kumho supra ecstas. they have soft compounds but they wear out under 10,000 miles.

rear disk brakes dont do much on the celica either. over 90% of the breaking force is applied to front brakes only. the braking test on the celica gt-s and gt came out almost the same and gt model had drum brakes.

thanks for the compliments btw.

I dont think im gonna do any engine mods. Many people want the thrill of more power and torque, going 100+ down a straight line. But I think taking turns at high speed possible while taking the optimum line brings out the most thrill from a car.
