Well I went into work today and my boss was like NIce car there, I want it. I was like What??? He's like ya how bout $9500. I'm like hmmm 1500 more than i paid well why the hell not. So I go ok why do you want it. He told me that the shop need a new show car. I like ok but what about the Eclipse? (our show car now) He's like I'll traid ya. Your car for it. I'm Like ok. So Now I have an Eclipse thats worth like $12000 or more :D :D :D

Karma, man - you have some bad luck, you have some good luck. It all evens out. Nice work.

Haven't seen a shot of the Eclipse for a while - send through a photo.

This car is fast. Its got one hellava turbo in it i'll get the pic.

Here it is. This is the pic my boss sent me. Its when he lived in Kansas. So this is what I got. He told me its has 300hp. I said BS I'm want a dyno tommarrow. I think maybe 250 or maybe even as low as 220 but it sure ain;'t 300. But WTF do I care. it was only 1500 plus a car:D.

SR,
While someone is out to kill you in the Honda. A bigger, better, more benevolent somebody is watching your back. :D
Congrats.

Yuppers :)

Also I like this car better it convertable. Although the Protege was nice. I might just keep this until the 6 comes out. I could sell this for some bling (hehehe....I said bling)

I don't know the Protege COULD have looked nice. It will its now our current project. Can't wait to rip in to tommarrow. I will be though.

Well no but I'm saying the Protege would have been nice given some time. The Eclipse goes about 5000 times faster, though and cost a lot less. I like this better but in time I would have liked the Protege

pretty cool deal...but I still woulda gone with the Protege man...not just cause I'm a Mazda guy, but cause it's fresh, no one has done anything to it, and you are free to make it your own, where as the Eclipse is already fixed up, but not for you...it's someone else's project really.

I was offered my bro's '87 626, and I turned it down. Its my bros car, not mine. No matter who he sells it to, it's still his car IMO. That's what I'd like to have someday. A car that I can make my own, to my specs, totally for me.

PS, the Protege is better quality...but it sounds like it's a good deal for you.

But I'm a little confused, the Eclipse is now all your's? And the Protege, what happens with it?

The Protege is now going to be our shops new project car. The Eclipse was the old one.

Its pretty mad, But I don't really like the colour

Hey Lebsta, you're probably into the grey import scene in Australia. How come we've never seen the Eclipse here? I'd have thought that if the FTO was big here, the Eclipse would have done pretty well.

They don't want to shove two competitors into the same ring. The FTO is your replacement for the Eclipse. Though you need a convertible.

These cars aren't imported by Mitsubishi - they're brought in as low mileage used cars by private companies under the low volume 'grey import' exemptions under Australian law. So, that's probably not that relevant - especially given the number of old Sylvias and R33 GT-ST's you see running around!

Mitsubishi never brought them over due to probable low volumes - Australian Design Rules (ADR's) are fairly expensive to engineer to for Japanese cars (we have tougher side intrusion rules here), but since low volume used imports are exempt from those rules, the 'grey importers' can get around them.

You mean the FTO is still a grey import? Ralliart hasn't stepped in like they did in the UK and began 'officially' importing them? Crazy! So Australia gets neither the Eclipse or FTO??

Hole in one, brother! We did get a few Evo VI's (most of which have been stolen!).

The Federal Govt is putting together some 'low volume' import rules at the moment, which is how we got the Evo VI. Under this, Mitsubishi are meant to be bringing in the Evo VII, and there's some talk Chrysler are bringing the Viper over (with a nice RHD conversion).

You can buy a used FTO though - there's plenty of them around.

Hmm, I saw eddy_2790 complaining that the Viper will be delayed 'cos the Americans have snapped all of them up. I'm sure you'll get one, vat_man, as soon as it arrives by boat.

I wonder if there's any country that's truly happy with the cars it recieves as imports. . .

GUESS WHAT!!! I went to work to day and told my boss I want a dyno. So we got it all set up. After it was done I was like Holy
**** it had 320hp. I was you boss you weren't messing with me were ya. So then I said "I don't think I'm feeling so well maybe I should take the day off." My boss said "Hmmm...you look fine to me but maybe you should go to the track..I mean home." I was like "I think the strip might be a good idea I think I'll feel better." So my boss was cool about it and said go on. SO I drove a fast as I could to the track.
I went up against a Integra. It was poorly done. SO the tree turned green and I was off. 13.359 secs later i rolled acrossed the line. I was like whoa!!!
So I keep running 13's all day. I'm actually thinking of hooking some laughing gas up to it. I want to hit 12's. Or maybe I can just learn to drive better. :D
