My sister told me about this the other day when I walked into the kitchen and while she was baking, she had some lovely music playing from her iPad I knew wasn't from her library since it was Jazz and I know she doesn't follow that genre.

She proceeds to tell me about Songza.com and how it's a website that lets you listen to music for free. There are an endless amount of playlists available and it even has a concierge that recommends you playlists to play based on parameters you give it. So for example, it's a Tuesday afternoon and it gives you a few options to pick from and it'll bring up playlists based off that. You can also do searches through a list of genres. It's also great if you need a playlist for long events. If you got a party, just pull up a playlist and it'll keep playing songs for you. It is also pretty great to have for work rather than using the radio since there are no commercials.

I'm enjoying every second of it because now I have access to Jazz, New Age and Ambience playlists.

Anyone else use Songza?

edit: It was brought to my attention in record time that only US and Canadian IPs may access this site due to licensing constraints. :(

Sounds better than Pandora, though I am currently using Spotify for my music needs. However, I will check it out sometime today.

It's nice you mention those. While Songza is restricted to Canada and the US, Pandora is restricted to the US, Australia and New Zealand.

Both Pandora and Spotify bring up stuff regarding money and transaction. Songza does not.
Spotify's terms of use state it's strictly for personal use, so one may not play it in say a retail store during opening hours. Songza doesn't mention this though. At the bottom of the page it states 100% free. 👍

Also, who doesn't like to have the interface address the user personally and provide options based on the moment you visit the site?

That's just awesome. I visit the site at 1am on Tuesday and it knows what kind of activities one might be doing at a time like this.

Like you have experienced in Spotify, they only charge for the premium version which lets you listen to the songs without internet connection. Though some of the proceeds actually go to the artists.

Wait, what!? Something that is restricted to only a few countries? ... Is available in New Zealand?

I might check out this later tonight after I've finished listening to Edguy albums. :P

Oh wait nevermind yes I have tried that before. Didn't care for it though.
