I dont see an issue with the price, if they had put it a £15 or more then yes we would have an issue but £9.50 is not an issue in fact its comparably cheaper than other DLC and is on par for other online stores XBL, Steam, Onlive, iTunes ect. I spend about £8 a day on lunch and snacks at work so the price for the extras is worth it.

So you spend £160-200 a month on food at work. Ever thought of doing some shopping? I'm not poor, or lacking in income but the thought of spending that amount on money on casual eating kills me. Where I work has exortbitantly prized sandwiches but I'll never buy one when I can make my own for about 1/5 of the price. Spend the money on beer instead!:)

Seriously, are people broke!? I think the complete pack is a steal! The price difference between countries is obviously a result of the economy difference between countries.

Here the price for the complete pack is €11.99, which is as much as $16.57, yet I'm not complaining, and I study, I don't have a job and I pay my parents $150 each month for still living at home with them.

Must be harsh times out there...

Harsh times???? harsh is to have to pay your parents to be able to study... you dont work and have to pay to study? what do you do to get money?? steal, deal drugs?

I take it you are not in the UK so why post here if you cant relate???? some countrys have money laundering laws (from a few decades ago) making a bit more dificult to live without working...

The issue is not with the price of the DLC, it's with the way the pricing is structured around the world. The pack in the US is charged at 11USD which at the moment is about 10.90AUD, yet in Australia we are being charged 18AUD for the download. Yet again Australians are being shafted for no good reason. I don't think anyone could seriously tell me that it costs an extra 7 bucks to deliver a few meg digitally here.

Again, as others have already mentioned, there is no tax added to the USD price, but your price in AUD likely includes VAT at 10%, + a currency adjustment factor at another 5%~10%. There could also be additional taxes or fees in place that are collected by the state or individual territory that I'm not aware of. It's no just a simple matter of "Sony" shafting you.

US has no sales tax I believe, UK we pay a 20% extra in VAT...

So the extra £2 or so is probably just VAT.

Still, all the content for under a tenner is a good deal IMHO.

No. Sales tax (or VAT as you guys call it) in the US and Canada is added after the sticker price. In the UK the sticker price includes the VAT.

....so the price of the DLC is $11.99, plus 8-15% on top of that depending on the state/province tax rate (Yes, it sucks figuring out the sales tax in your head while you shop).

You guys still get ripped off, but its not as bad as you think ;)

Do the individual taxes for each state (in the US) apply also for something like the PSN, where you can't really determine where the customer is located?

That will be PD/sony problem not yours... we pay what is announced in their site and they will pay the taxes (with our money)

If they pay more tax in one state or one country thats their problem....

Yes. They use the address on file with your Credit Card. Or PSN account address.

....not sure if you can fool the system by registering in a taxless state (like a
Alaska) and then using a creditcard from where you actually live.

What? You pay the taxes on your purchases.

The "announced" price of the DLC is 11.99, but the final price, after state sales tax is added, will be around $13.50, here in New York. Some states have more some states less.

It's only a few beers in any country. What's with all the complaining?

Kids who can't convince their parents to buy them DLC. :D

You will have to be literally homeless to be unable to buy the dlc, the complete pack is a bargin compared to what other games like to charge.

How much for just the track pack in the UK?
(I don't care to pay for rm cars that aren't really new, or paints and suits).

I'm quite pleasantly surprised by the pricing of the full pack.

What if I register in Alaska and buy a PSN card, there will be no way of SONY doing this.

So I rather think it is like that:

Thanks for your answers, anyway. :)

Pretty annoying how we have to pay more when our dollar is worth more then the USD. I guess that would be our tax rates kicking in then....

Its the new Carbon tax that the Australian Labour government just brought in.

Any word on Canadian pricing for the DLC? Or will it be priced the same as US since the currencey has been around parity for some time now?
Ive never bought anything off the Sony Store either so I dont know ho they usually do things.

Hmm...it's not that much since it will only be approx. $18-$20 in Singapore dollar since I use UK's PSN...it's like paying fuel for a Hyundai Santa Fe here

Cad psn prices have always been the same as US prices.

Edit: The difference is that we have to pay tax on top of DLC prices.

Actually, they were not for the longest time. Canadian prices were always more even when we were at par a few years back.

Maybe now they are, since our dollar has been at almost parity with the USD for quite some time. But i've been living in the UK for the last 2 years so i havent been paying attention.

....and they pay tax in the US as well.

I expect the complete packet for EU will be converted directly to €uro (like they always do)... I think 11,99$ will be 11,99€... What makes 16,44$ = 1/3 of the price for the full game (as it was not platinum).

Yep it is, at least here

regardless, I'll be shelling out the $11.99CAD on the 18th.

I very rarely buy DLC, but I play this game too much not to buy it.

Dont get me wrong i love gt5 and the idea of dlc but the £9.49 price for the uk complete pack is a complete piss take , the us equivalent price is £7.63 at the moment !!! How can they justify the price difference ??? sorry sony but i was real excited about the dlc idea and was going to buy all of it but now will be selective . Can we get a petition of some sort ?

Oh get a frikking job! That price absolutely nothing, you make it out as if your paycheck has gone! If you had a brain and wasn't stuck at home watching Jeremy Kyle all day or obsessing over football then you would know that something like this COST MONEY TO DO. It takes 6 months to a year to do a track and months to do cars, developing games costs money, this isn't 80s where its done by a fatguy in a garden shed.

Also it's worth noting that the gov decided to put heavy taxes on games companies in 2007 to try draw the public away from games.

Thanks, I was expecting it to be more since thats usually the case. Even when the dollar is at parity I figured they would come up with some excuse to charge more.

But im fine shelling out the 12$ and change. considering the work that goes into the track modelling alone, I feel its more than fair for the package deal. Also considering online play is free on PSN Im saving money there by not having to pay for online access and then DLC on top.

Haha,u.s. price is like buying a nice craft beer six pack. Im def buying

It's how much an actually pint of beer costs in Central/City London where I hang out alot lol, double it and thats howmuch a shot of (cheap) whisky costs lol.

Not sure who's working out the conversions at Sony Europe but the Bundle is way over the conversion and the track pack is bang on at £3.19. So it's not like they are accounting for VAT as all prices would be higher.

UK pays the same as US for the track pack only, so if that's all your after it's a fair price.
