Hi, I'm new to this board.

I'm using BMW E34 for real life and have been drove that car to Sunday Track days several times. And to add more motorsports experience..I just bought PS2 abs GT4 ( NTSJ J version )

My Sony Laptop has a Firewire DV in ( 4 pins )..and I've used it with my DV cam to record videos onto may laptop.

I just bought this PS2 several days ago ane I noticed there's DV out.

Can I just play PS2 using my laptop screen = PS2 -> DV Cable VAIO ?

Or can I record the replay using my laptop software ? Microsoft Movie maker or Pinnacle 9 ?

What the pin number for PS2 > I tried to slot in the 4pin-4pin DV cable into PS2 but seems it does not slotted in.

It's a Firewire port, all right, but it's NOT DV out. It's used by some games (including GT3, but not GT4) for networking. As far as I know, you'll never get game video out of it. With GT3, you could connect up to 6 PS2's to a FireWire hub, and they would be linked to race each other. GT4 requires Ethernet, though.

A video camera having a USB port doesn't mean that USB is for video only. Same goes for Firewire (or for Sony, i-Link.) It has many more applications than letting a camera feed video to a PC. If you look at your VAIO's network properties, you'll probably find the Firewire listed as a network adapter. I used to use Firewire to hook my laptop to my PC, as FireWire is faster than Ethernet.

I don't remember one dealing with firewire .. but there were a couple of them dealing with PS2-PC connections .. I'll dig them up in a minute.
