Sony X90J / PS5 / VRR flickering

Setup:

• Sony X90J 65" (4K / VRR on / HDR on / 120Hz native)
• Console - PS5 (VRR on / HDR on)

Since VRR became an option on the PS5 I have had pretty bad Black flickering when VRR is turned on. Other games VRR not an issue.
Finally got around to testing a solution.

Solution:
- Display Settings -> Brightness -> Auto Local Dimming -> Off

So far so good, hopefully this helps others with similar setups. Looks just as good with the setting off.

Unexpected, but Sony released an update yesterday on the X90J fixing the black flickering when VRR is on... Well done Sony, I'm pretty surprised 👍

ALLM off
HDR auto

And fifth TV Sony Bravia 49" XE80

Haven't noticed any colour issues with VRR and ALLM on.
