I have a few questions to ask the illustrious computer giants, if you don't mind?

I have a PC, Intel Dual-Core 2.3ghz. DirectX 10 compatible graphics card with 2gb's of memory. Plenty of power for most all games I have come across.... Most (I'm looking at you Crysis).

1. I would like to hook my PC's audio to my 5.1 Surround system. Is there a good sound card out there that would allow me to do this, without losing the 5.1 decoding? I'm really trying to stay away from buying a second 5.1 setup, just for my PC.

2. I am also looking for a good video capture card. Pretty much all my media devices (XBox 360, PS3, PC, DVD Player, etc...) are high definition, and thus utilize HDMI cables. What kind of capture cards would you suggest for capturing HD signals, for editing on the PC.

3. Last question I promise. Once I have the video onto my PC, what programs (don't say WMM, I'm a bit past that point) should I check out for editing the video. I have used Sony Vegas (Previously, Sonic Foundry), and I liked it quite a bit. Any suggestions? Prices? I don't want to spend $500 on an editing program. I just want something that's fairly deep, and customizable to some extent (plugins, filters, etc...)

;)

Adobe Premiere is the way to go for video editing. I use this on a daily basis for clients and from all the programs I've used, it's definitely the way to go for any type of video editing (if your budget allows it).

Thank you for the info, but as I said, I certainly don't want to spend $799:crazy: on a program. Is there any program out there that offers reasonable depth without the enormous price tag?
