Sound Problems

Haven't played GT5 in a while, just got back to It and having fun, except a slightly annoying problem with sound output. I have the (fat) PS3 optical connected to a 5.1 sound system. This works fine with all the other games, so that can't be the problem. I was playing the Super GT seasonal events and halfway through the races sounds begins to go away, come back etc. After that I practiced (with the same car) on Le Sarthe and It was the same problem. Have experienced this a few days now. Played another game and all is fine so It is a GT5 problem. Anyone an idea ? (I have music turned off)

Something like this happened to me the other day while cruising online with some people, the sound went out completely for a few minutes and then it came back but as far as what the problem might be I have no idea.

It happened again in a seasonal event, and what's worse, when I finished the race, the next screen did not appear, the cars kept on cruising. I waited for another lap but they kept going on cruise control. Had to power off the PS I don't know If It is related with the sound problem, but It seems to me It is. I wonder, do you have to be connected on line to play the seasonals and may be a bad internet connection can cause this sort of things ?
