Just returned from yet another trip to the Kruger to fulfil my passion of wildlife photography. I won't bore you with lots of text but if you're interested in doing a (reasonably priced) safari PM and I can give you some more details. I travelled with Asahambe Adventures for the second time (Oct 2015 & June 2016) and had a great time with the owner / guide and now a good friend Jonathan.

Absolutely amazing pictures, I'm jealous you've been able to do this, especially twice. If I had the time and money I would love to go, the wildlife there has always amazed me. Thanks for sharing. 👍

Fantastic shots. Thanks for the share.
Thx for visiting & leaving a nice comment - appreciated.

As always, gorgeous pictures.

The bird peeking from behind the giraffe is my favorite. 👍
Thank you and it's a fairly rare yellow billed oxpecker with a **** load of real estate to cover to clear it of ticks etc.

Thx for leaving a comment. I've been going to Africa since the mid 90's. IF you can at some point in your life you should go for it.

Other than mentioning how lucky you are I must admit your photos are beautiful. National Geographic beautiful. I'm not a photographer myself but truly enjoyed viewing your snaps.

How close/far do you typically shoot animals from?
With (mostly small) birds I always hope to catch them within 5 meters and mammals within 20 meters. However it seems they are not aware of this rule. :D
You are just not allowed to get closer as offloading is strictly prohibited in nature parks.
Rhino was at 50 meters but I've also shot rhino at 3 meters. Last year I managed to get a Canon 200-400mm with built in 1.4 converter giving me 560mm max on FF camera and left the 500 f4 prime lens at home.

Where needed (Kingfisher) cropping is applied to get a more frame filling result. Anything outside above mentioned range I usually treat as a sighting and don't even bother to shoot unless it's something I've never seen before such as roan antelope.

Kruger's wildlife is fairly accustomed to smelly vehicles and don't run off as quick as they do in e.g .Kenya making it a bit easier to get a head instead of a bumshot.

Love your work. Will you be posting anymore pics?

euh not really but visit www dot robpelle dot nl if you're interested to see more.

My next trip will probably take me through 5 southern african countries. (S Afr, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique) I've been asked to participate in a rally (not a race) each at their own pace as long as we meet up in 7 different stopovers to hand out shoes to poor school kids.
