Hello and welcome to this one-off endurance race on the Legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit, which plays host to many events such as the Belgian Grand Prix, Spa 6 Hours and the Spa 24 Hours in the Blancpain Endurance Series
The Cars
The Nissan GT-R R35 TC, making up the top class, boasting 650 BHP, 4WD and enough torque to power a cruise-liner, and weighing 1215KG, this is an amazingly fast car.
The Honda CR-Z Touring Car, only 200BHP, but it weighs 910KG which makes for a brilliant car in the turns, grips like nothing else and will have some brilliantly close racing.
The Track:
One of the most famous tracks in the world, this 7 kilometer Monster from Belgium always throws up a good race, and with the weather unpredictable, who knows who will win here?
Time and Date:
This will take place on Saturday 12th May.
9PM CET/8PM BST/7PM GMT/3PM EDT/12PM PST
Please notify me if I've messed up on a time-zone.👍
Settings:
Tuning: Prohibited
Tyres: Racing Hard
Aids: All off apart from ABS
Distance: 35 laps
Slipstream: Weak
Tyre/Fuel Depletion: On
Damage: Light
Grass/Wet Track Grip: Real
Track settings: (For Qualifying and Race) 0%/0%/10
Qualifying Procedure:
At 10 to the hour, the track will be reset and all GT-R drivers will be sent to track to qualify, they get a single lap to qualify, once the GT-R have all gone through Eau Rouge on their flying lap, CR-Z drivers are allowed on the track, GT-R drivers mustn't take a second lap and return to the pits after their lap. Once the CR-Z drivers have completed their laps, the race will be started.
Race Start Procedure:
The Race will be a rolling start, the pole-sitting GT-R will set the pace at around 50-75% race speed, once out of the bus-stop chicane, everyone must slow down to 60MPH and go double file, the race will start on the straight between La Source hairpin and Eau Rouge, the pole-sitter decides when to go once everyone is on that straight, but no overtaking before the line under the Total sign.(will post picture at a later time)
Rules and Racing etiquette:
We will be running with the ORL
I'm not too fussed about track bounderies, apart from Eau Rouge.
That's how much is allowed to be cut, I understand it's a long race and the GT-R has heavy tire wear however so it's probable that the inside gets used a little more then it should, but try keep it at a minimum.
Multi-Class Racing:
GT-R drivers: You're car is about 25 seconds a lap faster, so you will have a huge advantage in the straights, if you come up to a CR-Z in a turn, just be patient to overtake him, it's a wide track with a lot of straights, so you shouldn't be long stuck behind him.
CR-Z drivers: When a GT-R is approaching you, just be predictable, stick to your lines and try hold off overtaking when you're being lapped as the GT-R will be bottled up behind you.
