I have searched for this but have not found anything.

Because i use 3 Mobile Internet i need to watch my MB/GB limit. I was wondering how much MB the GT5P Spec III (3) update takes and if possible how long it would take to download? Thanks in advance.

It is 1,540MB (1.54GB)

I'm new to GT5P and the platinum copy i picked up for £10 already had the spec III update which might be an alternative for you.

Thanks for the reply. Now that i know how much MB the download is, i may have to wait until next month, which is when the MB is "refreshed" to 3GB. Thanks again.

The news section from the game for the UK PAL version says spec III is 154MB, and if you've just bought the game or never updated it before then its around 650MB as you would've missed some spec II updates.

There was some info released saying specIII was 116MB and first time updating will be around 350MB but it varied slightly for each region. Music tracks and such.

If you have a Japanese copy then it'll be around 2GB

Dont forget, if it will stop downloading after some time, just start up the game, go to "News" or "Gran Turismo TV" and it will download further from the point where it stopped first.

Hey folks, what happen if you get an error while downloading the Spec III update, and then turn off the console? The download will resume even when I turn off the console, or it will restart from the beginning?

can it be downloaded to PC?

There is a way to do it, and then transfer to PS3 using a proxy program :)
You need a router in which the PC and PS3 are both connected to.
My PC is hard wired, and the PS3 wireless from the same router

Basicly you start the proxy program on the PC, get the PS3 to start downloading. The URL will show in the Proxy program
Copy this url and download it on the PC.

Once finished, you set the PS3 to use a proxy in the network settings --> using the proxy program's address.
Set the proxy program to intercept the previous url and point it to the downloaded file.
PS3 will think it's downloading the actual file and it will install it etc from your PC

This is one way to grab large files away from the PS3 etc. It's handy as download accelerators work, and the speed tends to be faster on the PC
