They're expensive but they're worth a purchase... You've got to love the Special Cars in GT2... The only problem is they barely need upgrades... Well, the only things you can change in them are the wheels and the tires... And all the parts are customizable... So far, my favorites are:

1) Taeivon Trampio FTO '99 (Mitsubishi)
2) Castrol Tom's Supra GT (Toyota)

There are others but the Taeivon Trampio FTO is my supreme favorite... For now... :)

I only use the specials if they offer a quite noticeable performance difference than the "specials". An example is the Imprezza Rally Car; I like my more powerful '99 WRX, 22B, and even the '98 WRX coupe much more.

But cars like the T. T. FTO aren't possible by fully-upgrading a stock FTO; the SR Widebody beats any other Mustang hands down, and there's no other Calibra to mess with in the game.

There are a few special cars that can take performance upgrades, though.

Well, I've tried out a handful of special cars and the only upgrades you can use are the Active Stability Controller and the... I don't know what that other upgrade is... :)

the stability / traction controls are little more than pointless....
....unless you can't drive to save your life.

The special cars are fully costomizable so there's no need to buy extra kits like suspension, brakes, etc. Well, since I'm not that good in customizing, I just drive my TT FTO '99 as it is... However, the only thing I changed is the wheels...

You can a Stage 4 Turbos to...
  • Toyota GT-ONE Road Version
  • Jaguar XJ220
You get 975hp out of the Toyota & 945hp out of the Jag. :)

If you needed to buy a TCS or ASC for the wonderful FTO racer, then you are really SOL at GT2. Just kidding.

I make wheel changes more often than before, to signify different set-ups on cars that are virtually the same on the outside.

Well, it's my favorite so far... Maybe I should buy all the available special cars from every single manufacturer... What do you guys think?

Yeah. Buy 'em all and let us all know if they're worth the money

I know I've gotten turbo and NA upgrades for special cars, the GT1 road version for one. The specials seem to always be better. I have a 6XX HP GT40 and I can still do better in the 4XX Race Car.

it went ok, i fully customised everything and put the front brake bias to 0 and the back to 100 and did front wheel skids at the test track
