Special Prologue Update on the 24th

A few weeks ago PD announced a special online update for GT5P, but they gave no info on what it was about. And with the new GT5 demo out could this Prologue update mean we will get Indianapolis added to prologue? (Or something of the sort)

Most likely an event update. If they update the physics engine to the new one I think I can wait another year til GT5!

It should be a physics update, this is why.
We all get used to the demo physics, wich are the same as the GT5 physics.
So when the demo has ended and we won't be able to play it anymore, we are forced to go back to GT5P.
But GT5P is completely different from GT5 so it would be annoying to go back to GT5P and then to GT5 again.
Still don't think it will be a physics update though, at least not so soon.

It would be nice if we did get a physics update. The new demo's physics are a definite improvment over GT5's.

It's just an events update,it was in the news section . Instead of waiting til the last Thursday of the month,the update will be the 24th. There was a mention of something special,but I wouldn't get my hopes up about anything earth shattering.

Is this so? Or will simply, after 1/24 the time you set not accepted but you still are able to play it 'offline'?

The demo expires Feb 25th and GT5 comes out March 2010 so its not a huge wait.

March 2010 in Japan, since the Sony's New York event word is getting around for a summer 2010 (our winter) for US and maybe PAL too (Going by a german magazine preview)

and if they are they're going to have to include the new physics, would be dumb if they don't and if they do all the other cars must be updated as well as doubling the polygons it's all in my head, just think people.

The online events for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue are normally updated on the last Thursday of every month, but for the month of December, the update will be performed at midnight (0:00 EST) December 24.

Sounds to me like we are just getting extra events.

How bout an Update to fix the stupid lack of paddle shifters in prologue. I just spent close to 300 only to find out my paddle shifters wont work. What...the...F#$%.
Thanks Logitech...oh and thanks PD, its been over a year and a half and you still cant update prologue to at least SHOW the G25 or G27 on the wheels menu. How hard is an update to get the paddle shifters workin huh?

someone help if they have any tips for me to get the paddles workin. Is there a mode I can press on the wheel itself to get out of 6 speed?

The paddle shifters work on all Logitech wheels to the best of my knowledge. They have certainly worked on all three Logitech wheels I've owned (DFEX, DFGT and G25)

Which wheel do you have?

I just got the G27 today. I figured the spec 3 would have the updated support for it, since the G27 doesn thave an option to switch from sequential to 6 speed. because of this, the paddles are disabled because prologue thinks i have a g25 with the ability to switch.

its alright, I played tonight with 6 speed and had a good time hackin away like I was in some bad action movie.

I also came within a few hundredths of a second of my best Indy lap time in the tuned 370z. A bit more finess and I could break it no sweat. Overall, its nice to be back on a wheel, even if its not my old G25. I am alot more consistent now too.

Good lord how I need a cheap racing cockpit thats NOT a playseat. needs to sit lower. = / humbug

The G25 and G27 are not official GT wheels. The Logitech Driving Force Pro and GT are. This is why those wheels are shown on the wheels menu, but the G25/7 aren't, along with tens of other wheels which work with the console but are not official wheels of the game.

The G27 doesn't have a separate sequential/H-gate switch unlike the G25. The fact you didn't know this before laying "300" out on it isn't the fault of the game. The fact Logitech removed this feature from a wheel which isn't officially supported by the game isn't the fault of the game either.
