Speed difference

I've searched but I couldn't find a thread that talked about this....

Does anyone have the problem to where you tune your transmission and it says " top speed 216" but you can only do maybe 204 before it hits its rev limit and stops accelerating?

Is there something I'm missing/doing incorrectly or is this something that happens to everyone?

You should be able to hit that speed while drafting, there is too much resistance from the air, and tires to hit the estimated speed the tuning menu gives you with out a draft or a downhill road.

That's the theoretical top speed the transmission can deliver, not a reflection of what the car can actually achieve.

The estimated speed is based on an RPM higher than redline. Seems to usually be one "click" slower than shown.

I'm no tech head but the amount of downforce you are using along with other variables such as bumps in the road and a few other things contribute to your top speed potential and the reality. I have too noticed that the projected top speed (in KM/H) is anywhere up to 15 km/h higher than the actual top speed that you can achieve. I have never driven a car that has reached it's projected top speed in the three weeks I have been playing this game!

Ah so it's not something I'm doing wrong then, but I could have sworn that back in GT3 and 4 you could hit your top speed without needing a draft or downhill slope.
