Some of you may recognise my name from other parts of the forum (I hide in the photography section), but I'm guessing the majority of you won't of seen my name around here.

So to begin with I'll do a short introduction.

I'm Adam (Speedster), and I'm actually a very keen photographer in real life. GT4 originally got me hooked on the idea of photography and after that things escalated for me, I ditched the controller and picked up a real camera - which would then become a D-SLR within a few years. Countless motorsport events later I made it into the world of media photographers. So yes, I'm one of those people who go and stand the other side of the catch fence in an attempt to get good photos! So I'd like to think I know what I'm doing to a certain extent, but am very much keen to improve.

I did originally have a gallery here, but I sold GT5 not long after release and deleted all my photos from Flickr, so the gallery is a bit of a mess. So I've started fresh again, with a new separate Flickr account to keep the GT5 stuff away from my real life images.

I'd like to think I'll transfer my real style into these images...so here goes.

________________________________

For my first update I'll include a range of shots I've taken over the past day or two. I have to admit, whilst I considered myself to know 2.0 rules back in the day I've fallen out of that a bit. So...don't expect to see massively edited work for a while. :)

C&C is very much welcome and encouraged!

P.S. - I'll try to make this gallery look 'pretty' sometime by adding some banners and neatening up my presentation a bit more.

Hey man, these are great!

- I'm no pro or anything, but everyone appreciates ideas - I think you should mess around with the Panning Modes a little :)

It's awesome to see the progression, Adam - I remember when you started out in GT4, and now look!

A walking example of how far serious talent can get you in the real-world, and a great start to a GT gallery 👍

Very nice stuff so far. 👍 Love the first panning 1 shot. :D

Thanks, #1 is just like some of the stuff I do in real life. Got to admit I love the slow shutter speeds (funnily enough slower than 1/60th though).

A great new start... 👍

Thanks. 👍

Thank you, I certainly will be playing around the panning modes a bit more in future. I think in this update I was tackling the situation as if I was actually track side and exploring the potential of having a 500mm lens!!

You'll definitely see some more panning shots soon!

Nice start!! You do good real life stuff, and your GT stuff is just as good. 👍

Cheers, really appreciate that! :)

Hey Slip! I'm not sure I even want to go and look at that stuff back from the very beginning of my GT4 "career"! But I know things have come my way quite quickly in terms of real photography and after 22 events this year alone I'd like to think I'm still improving.

Really appreciate you coming by, and seeing a name that I remember well from GT4! 👍

Wow... You really can tell you are a real-life photographer - so so good 👍

Thanks! Glad to see that my skills (or lack of in some cases) are transferring over a little. 👍

#4 was my favorite.

Thanks. 👍

How the hell can anyone think that you aren't experimenting with panning modes here!? The 1st and 5th shots are so damn realistic, and varied in a nice way. Sure, I would love to see some shots from you which are something like 1/60 and Mode 3. But this is just fantastic. You've done a lot of great shots, as seen in the "Real-Life" section. Especially the ones with the motion blur through the trees are just stunning. And these are fantastic as well. :P

Just bring on more and more, I can't say that I do not love what I see here. The three I quoted are my favorites from this set, and you have thankfully linked them through Flickr so I can run away and favorite them on the spot. Just post what you got.

You can tell you are a true photographer. All the images have such a great real-world feel to them. A+ work and really can't wait to see more.

Haha, thanks! Must admit I didn't really explore the panning modes, although when I previously owned the game I pretty much left it in Mode 2 & 3, but I think my interest in Mode 1 is simply because of my real life experiences - and it's the most accurate to what can actually be achieved at a motorsport event.

Also I'd love to do panning through the trees on GT5, but unfortunately the shutter speeds don't go low enough (and I can't get to any of the trees!). Really appreciate the kind comments. 👍

Thanks! I must admit I've just been looking for angles that I would pick out in real life, even to the extent of moving the camera to edges of the armco to create a realistic shooting area - rather than in the middle of the circuit. It just helps to give that slightly more 'real' impression. At least that's what I've found so far! Really appreciate the comments and more will certainly be coming!

Man these photos are great 👍 real talent

Thanks! 👍

_______________

I did take a load of new shots today which would have been perfect for the gallery, unfortunately I made an amateur mistake which means I no longer have them on either my console, the game save data or my memory stick! Promise more will be coming very soon! :)

Probably the best start to a gallery, I have ever seen.
I love to see someone also very serious about the Panning Mode 1. :)

WoW!
Great shots.
Wanna see more!

Great talent. Those are some realistic pics;).

Thanks guys! It's all very much appreciated. 👍

Finally had some time to go take some more photos, this time a bit of American racing action. I don't feel this is as strong as the first set, by a long way, but I've always found NASCAR a bit fascinating as it's such a vibrant and colourful sport and I wanted to explore that really! Anyway, I hope you guys like them.

Also here's a sneak preview for some shots coming up:

As I said before C&C is very much welcome. :)

Really. This has to be my favorite set from all galleries so far, while some of the "ideas" are groundbreaking, can I say that the execution is. Just fantastic work on everything, lighting, details, everything. Why don't you enter some competitions? They'll work as long as there isn't Lens Flares, HDR or Panoramas. I can't possible see how you won't win, unless something very strange happens. And my favorite has to be this. And I'm looking forward to seeing that LMP update. It's a R10 TDI in the hairpin at the very back, isn't it? :sly:

Just, another fantastic update Adam. Just keep... it up. 👍

Just amazing... 👍 I agree with Fishy, you should enter some competitions, you'd definitely be up there :)

Thanks Fishy! I'll definitely look into entering some of the competitions - just wanted to find my feet a little bit before I jumped in the deep end! Also your favourite pick from the NASCAR set is also my favourite, I was really pleased when I found that angle, the crowd colours and the cars seemed to work well together.

The LMP update will certainly be a mixture of some old and some new, it must be said that I'm rather partial to my Endurance racing so expect to see a few updates with that kind of theme! Really glad you like my work, I really, really do appreciate it. 👍

Wow.
Just pure amazingness, can't wait to see more.

Thanks!

Anything else on these guys? LMP update will be coming over the next couple of days!

Obviously not!

I decided to delay the Spa LMP1 update as I've still not got everything I really want for that update. In the mean time I've been playing around with the Ferrari F10 for some GP-esque images. I've tried to use some of my inspirations in the world of F1 photography (Darren Heath, Paul-Henri Cahier etc) to really influence my angles and the way I approached this set.

Unfortunately no panning mode experimentation like people asked for, but that will come, but it doesn't suit the feel I wanted for this particular set of images.

Those are... wow. Really great images. *Runs away and faves them all*

Wait, wut?

How is for example #1 not "experimenting"? I'd say that you vary your panning mode usage more than most other people on GTP. Anyway, this has turned into my by far favorite gallery. Every single picture has an astonishing level of quality. 👍

Thanks Fishy, well...it isn't the experimenting that I know some people want to see, in particular regarding panning mode 2/3. Thanks very much for the compliments too, I really do appreciate and am very glad you like my work!

Just wish I could get a few more comments per update! :)
