Speedster Cup - pretty hard

I just finished Speedster Cup. I must say it was quite a challenge, maybe not as difficult as Nurburgirng race of Pan Euro Championship in M3 GTR, but still a frustrating way to spend couple of hours.
First I was shocked how fast the AI cars were. I tried grand valley a few time with no mods and gave up. Then I did smoe mod to non turbo speedster:
NA2
Weigth 3
Racing flywhell
Triple clutch
Chip
R4 tyres

Then it wasnt so bad. It took me 2-3 tries to win every race. Except Infineon, which appeared to be a real ..... well, the word hasnt been discovered yet. It took me 43 !!!! efforts to win this one. Then only 8 time in Seattle and I was done.
But sure you must practice the track layout a lot!
Apart from this... speedster is probably one of the worst MR cars in the game - it reaaly drives like a cow. Well, as all the Op-els in the real life - I had 2 , I know that.
The prize is cool - Calibra Touring Car - worth 371 K

I used the turbo, and it was not too hard. I don't think they drive to shabbily though - not quite as well as the elieses but well enough.

43 tries - you must have too much time on your hands!

Well, you must be a hella good driver then :)
Did you do any mods or did you use a plain turbo speedster?

To be honest ,I dont have so much time - I did it during different attempts in 4 consequent days. It's only a matter of proper time organising :)

I have a modified Opel Speedster (non turbo) in my garage with almot 7000 miles on it. I found it to be a very good points collector, taking 200 points in each of the speedster races and the pan-european championship amongst others.

I think the way to get the most from this car is definately to modify it. Looking at the settings screen, I see that I have Chip and NOS, 3 different exhausts, 2 different turbos and all the suspension and transmission mods.
There is also a silver wing fitted, though this was as much for looks as it was for downforce - I'd left it set at 2:5.

The car is set up with Sports hard tyres, and a ballast weight of 100 with a weight distribution of +13. Beyond that I cannot say what setup I used for the series as it has been ages since I used this car, and even then I cannot remember what race/series I last used it for.

Won these first try. Suspension mods are an important part of making the car lap quicker.
Steps for upgrading car.
1. gearbox and driveline mods.
2. suspension mods.
3. power upgrades.
4.weight reduction.

No point adding power if the chasis is not able to handle it.

Speedster Cup is one of the easy 200 point events.

I modded mine up all the way and I can't even keep up with them. I think I have an idea of some other stuff I can do to finally beat them, but, right now, I can't even get close to them. I start the race, they shoot off, but by the time I make it to turn 1, they are gone. I think that the only way that I would be able to win is to disable teh AI with a gameshark.

Well, you may want to try the non-turbo Speedster, because it is substantially lighter than the turbo. Fully modified it will get (with the St.3 turbo) a little over 325hp, and weigh less than 800kg. Put it on R4's and a wing (30/30) and you'll still be in business for ~150pts. per race. Run R3's with lower downforce settings for more points.

I found these rather frustrating initiall even with mods, i then realised just sticking racing tires on even without mods makes it substantially easier. Hope this is of some help.
