The Bracket a Death tournament is underway!!!
Below are the details for
Ole's B.A.D. Tournament I

This event will run separate from any casual events, grand events or main events and will
kinda run between participants "in the background" with no set event dates or nights...
just whenever participants can arrange to get together to complete their races...
The Bracket a Death Challenge
will function like this

and then the top 2 from that "final 4" race will be our heads up championship race!!!!!


GENERAL EVENT DETAILS:
B.A.D. I -- has 12 drivers​
1. LR_LR_BASTART
2. MannYhAvitZ
3. jr4737
4. alcheng
5. FAN_Lawless
6. S_Bridge
7. GTracerEHTeam
8. Br1mann
9. mphile77
10. Obelisk
11. griff_theo
12. sgohsixthree
Each driver has be randomly placed in a group with 2 other racers
(the 1st round races will be between 3 racers)
Races will take place between these groups of 3, with the top 2 positions advancing to the next round.
The bottom racer will be eliminated from the bracket of death (thus the title)
Round two will again be a battle of the top two racers from the round 1 races
(so we will be down to 2 groups of 4 racers)
The Elite 8
The top two racers from each of those 2 races will then advance to Round 3
(again a 4 person race)
The Final 4
The top 2 racers will then be placed in a championship heads up battle to happen during a casual night for all to watch.


TRACK SELECTION BY ROUND:
Round of 12: Brands Hatch Indy 10 laps
Elite 8: Apricot Hill Raceway 8 laps
Final 4: Mount Panorama 7 laps
Final Heads up battle: Spa Francorchamps 4 laps

Each grouping is responsible to figure out a time to meet up
with the other 2 racers in their bracket.
They will then arrange a time that is convenient for them to run the race.
Round 1 10lap race around Brands Hatch Indy.
It's 1 and done.
The top two racers advance. The 3rd place racer is out of The Bracket of Death.
Please get me the results of your races once they have been completed.

If a blatant foul is committed I may be called in to review the footage and determine if a re-run is necessary. Otherwise all results are final.
There is a "no crying" rule.

So, I forgot one thing.

The Hyundai wing of the show had Gran Turismo 6 at a wheel rig for people to try their newest Genesis...right. Nobody was able to drive the thing more than the first corner of High Speed ring so I decided to give it a shot.

Turns out I'm an alien waiting for a wheel...

Edit: Hyundai's fault for leaving the assists on. I'd have been faster without.

so we are using the Scirocco in the one-make garage, right?

Is it possible to get a list of the recurrent cars used in the majority of races? I even have to buy them and to practice hard... :crazy:
One more thing, I use to drive with full stock cars (or tuned just as necessary). I could need some advice about this topic (pretty easy to understand if possible... :boggled:).

I would encourage everyone to make outreaches via PM to racers in your bracket to set up a time for your initial race. Please set those races up via PM (at your convenience - no rush - but also don't keep your fellow racers waiting because you want to practice for 40hrs)

Once you've set your race - feel free to post it in the forum thread so that others could pop in if they are free to watch. Commentary should be kept to a minimum as to minimize distractions.

you should feel free to try to watch a few of those bracket races to see if you'd like to participate in the next go around...

I know tjger and tarkus didn't make it in - they can feel free to watch a few races to see if they'd like to participate in future brackets!!

The event settings are there to copy or you should also be able to use the room for a race should your team want to....

I would suggest just using it for settings and then racing in the lobby so others can watch easier until we're all part of the club

as far as I know, if you are the member of the club and setup a room in the club lobby, other member in the same club can join your room even that person is not on your friend list.

I played GT5 with the game controller, cause I didn't have enough place/space for my Playseats + G25, and I know how tricky this can be... :crazy:
But for GT6 I absolute wanted/needed to use my steering wheel. For sure it's another feeling...

The computer will dictate the grid...

Perhaps in future brackets we'll see if we need to do something different and qualify or set a grid based on seeding
