Splitting a podcast into individual tracks?

I don't get to listen to my podcasts as much as I'd like to since I've started my new job, so I decided to start burning them to CD so I can listen on the way to/from work. Only problem is that iTunes says the file is too big to burn to a single cd. The podcast is in .mp3 format. I thought of just importing it into Audacity and splitting it in the middle and putting it on 2 cds, but then I thought it would be nice to split it into individual tracks so I could skip back/forward if I wanted to. Is there a free program that will automate the process or would I be stuck doing it manually?

Not that I'm trying to skirt around your question but wouldn't it be easier to buy an FM transmitter (or some other way to output to your car radio) and just play it off of the iPod instead of burning it to disk(s)?

FM transmitter audio quality sucks. In the next few months I'll be getting an AUX port wired into my cars stock head unit. Until then, I'm stuck burning CDs. :-/
