Hello.

I raced the FF Professional race some time ago, and just now thought to get out my little Spoon Civic and give it a go on Midfield. Well, I noticed something very strange... Why does the Spoon Civic have 18,000 RPM's? Isn't that like an Indy Car? Is it the tuning of the car? I cannot figure it out. And by the way, I looked at the "home garage" and it says "336HP/9900rpm". So wouldn't that mean that it is wasting a lot of its power? Correct me if I am wrong on that one... I guessed. My Spoon Civic is also completely maxxed out with all of the "best" parts.

I'm not sure if thats accuracte myself, but I do know the Spoon Civic has ben tuned in such a way it rev's alot higher, but I thought the real one red lined at 12-13,000 rpm not 18,000 like it does in GT3.

In GT3 it goes all the way up to 18k but in GT2 it only went up to 12-13k.

No, the Civic wouldn't waste a lot of power. The engine needs to rev that high because of it's small size and it doesn't have a turbo or a supercharger. Just think about it. A, for example, 1.6 liter engine can never have as much power at, lets say, 5000rpm, as a 5 liter engine, unless it has a turbo or a supercharger. If it doesn't, it needs to rev much much higher than 5000rpm to achive the same amount of horsepower.

Indeed the civic rolls at 18grand on the tach.

Basically, I figure the power peaks at a lower rpm but holds for a longer range.

I like the spoon civic, but the understeer is pretty bad and the power contributes to that, even with the whopping 360* hp.
(sadly, you really need to run it in a lower hp range if you want to keep the car at an ideal tuning setup.)(imo) ;)

I suggest you go do a search and find the extensive testing by myself and about 5 other people in spoon civic vs ______ thread from about 6 months ago. (guessing)

Great subject though.

Most likely an error on PD's part... I've seen the real thing rev at about 11500 rpm in a video, so they're pretty far off.

the more RPM`s the more wheel power thats how the F1 cars works the ferrari engine has about 850hp but only 300 torqu.... but they give the engine more rev and the tires get more tire torqu dont know really how it works but it does...

The best F1 engine at the present time (I mean the Ferrari) reaches 18700 rpm.
Other F1 engines (Renault, Toyota...) hardly reach 18K.
And remember that these engines are designed to last 600 miles only (except the Mercedes which blows usually after only 50 miles).

I doubt that Spoon has a technology to build engines that can rev that high for several thousands of miles.
Or perhaps Spoon owners just have loads of spare engines in their garages.

I find that pretty funny, especially after watching the F1 race yesturday, in Bahrain, where the Mercedes literally blew up. Anyway, sorry to be off topic :D
