Sport Mode Cheating

Gr3 and 4 races with b.o.p. are back, so now instead people using tuning bugs the set fastest qualifying lap, now they are using "hacking" the brakes. Most of the top ten list of race B have their brakes applied very slight through the whole lap. This triggers the ABS and gives them a traction boost. I remember this was a thing for a while in gt sport but I thought the developers solved this issue. Is this a bug or a hack? I just want fair competition.

It's ok, the cheaters will never get anywhere worthwhile with their efforts, as they don't have inner determination to compete fairly.

It is frustrating for the majority of good drivers that are placed on the same grid as them though.

This was a thing in GT Sport during the first few months, but the type of racers using it usually had incredibly poor racecraft and would rarely actually win because it wears your tyres a lot quicker (tyre wear is tied to braking in GT7, more than it should be to an extent).

Update* I watched Igor frame's race B replay and his brakes also shows a slight input during most of the lap. I know he doesn't need to cheat. What I'm observing is the brake indicator shows a thin red line showing very small input. For some drivers, this is constant, others will have the red line go away during certain straight aways, and sometimes it just flashes really fast. I'm thinking this is just a visual bug for a pedal that sticks at ~1%. But i know most pedals have a small ~5% dead zone before they register so I'm still unsure if this affects performance positive or negative?

Yea one could possibly over-extend their brake pedal and set that to the minimum and have it always give that 2% input for increased traction or whatever. Kinda lame that this is back again.

is it not also possible that a top player could provide the input with their foot? I haven’t seen the replays or know of the problem in GTS just playing devils advocate, some people are stupidly accurate with their inputs

To quote Karl Jobst: "Players don't cheat to get a faster time. They cheat to get a time, faster."

Maybe these riders only have their foot on the pedal and no or too little dead zone.

I ask for evidence that this extremely light actuation of the brake pedal really brings a speed advantage.
