Sport Mode green / yellow bars

In sport mode, what are the colored bars next to your name that change in color and number of bars when racing and shown on the initial race line up screen. Seems like they change so I'm assuming they reflect changes in DR or SR during the race. Go from red, green, yellow orange and 1 to five bars highlighted.

In sport mode, what are the colored bars next to your name that change in color and number of bars when racing and shown on the initial race line up screen. That would just be signalling your network connection strength, nothing to do with DR/SR.
